13U basketball team wins AAU Hardwood Classic

Faith and Discipline’s 13U basketball team are champions of the Hardwood Classic! The program has made a name for itself as a tough, talent-filled program that thrives on competition. This young team, guided by coaches Tremont Moore and Johnny Griffin Jr., showcases an impressive blend of effort, skill, and determination on the court.

Under their leadership, the players are receiving high-level basketball knowledge and mentorship that will serve them well both on and off the court. Coach Tremont Moore, also known as “Fudge,” is a well-respected figure in the Kokomo BobKats organization.

Reflecting on the recent tournament, he shared his thoughts on his team and their performance.

“I feel like our 13U went out and competed hard,” said Moore. “They shared the ball and played really strong defense. I believe the key to our success was the communication and discipline that we played with!”

Coach Fudge also highlighted the growth and resilience of his team throughout the season.

“I’ve seen this team grow a lot,” said Moore. “They have been undersized for the majority of the season, but they never lack heart or effort.”

His words emphasize the team’s unwavering spirit, proving that success is not solely determined by size but by the commitment to playing with heart and intensity.

One of the defining traits of this Faith and Discipline squad is their strong sense of teamwork. The players understand the importance of playing the right way by working together.

“They’ve learned to share the ball and really communicate with each other to be on the same page,” Coach Fudge continued. “This is their first championship, although they’ve been in three championship games. The other two times, we came up short in heartbreakers! I’m very proud of their faith in each other and perseverance.”

The Faith and Discipline program is quickly gaining recognition in the city of Kokomo as a rising force in youth basketball. With coaches who have professional experience and a strong commitment to teaching the game the right way, the program offers young athletes the opportunity to develop both their skills and character.

For any young player looking to take their game to the next level, there may be no better place to learn than from those who have competed at the highest levels. With their recent championship victory, the 13U team has proven that faith, discipline, and teamwork are a winning combination.
