Swimmers from Northwestern and Eastern high schools faced off in the pool on Dec. 13, and the Tigers’ boys’ and Eastern girls’ varsity teams swam away with the win.

In the boys’ competition, Northwestern prevailed 107-77, though Eastern’s Obi Greene found success in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly. His sibling, Amos Greene, took top honors in diving. Grant Kerns rounded out the Eastern wins with a victory in the 50 freestyle.

The Eastern girls were similarly successful, winning their match 94-78. The meet result was closer than the boys’ outcome, and Eastern claimed seven victories en route to the win.

Winners for Eastern included Abby Vawter in the 200 freestyle, Ava Kantz in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, Audrey Higgins in the 100 freestyle, Raygan McClain in the 500 freestyle, Haven Gunderson, Higgins, Makenzie Appleton, and Kantz in the 200 freestyle relay, and Higgins, Gunderson, McClain, and Kantz in the 400 freestyle relay.

Northwestern did not report individual winners for the meet.
