Carolyn Jean Caplinger, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in Kokomo, IN, at the age of 61. Born on June 20, 1963, in Morristown, TN, Carolyn was the cherished daughter of John and Ruth Yount, who preceded her in death along with her brother Alvin Elmore.
Carolyn's early years were spent in the halls of Haworth High School, where she cultivated a foundation of knowledge and friendship that would follow her throughout her life. Her warm spirit and thoughtful nature made her a beloved figure among her peers and teachers alike.
As a mother, Carolyn was unparalleled. She is survived by her adoring sons Dewayne Yount and Jason Collard, who will forever hold dear the lessons of compassion and generosity she instilled in them. Her legacy of love continues to live on through her sister Melissa Yount, her brother Charles Elmore, and her two grandsons, who were the light of her life.
Carolyn's passion for life was evident in her hobbies. She was an avid fisherwoman, finding peace and solace by the water's edge. Her love for animals was pure and unwavering, providing a caring home to many pets over the years. Many will fondly remember Carolyn for the countless hours she spent on her porch swing, a serene smile on her face as she watched the world go by. Even in her leisure, she enjoyed the simple pleasure of playing games on her phone, always up for a challenge or a bit of fun.
Described by those who knew her as loving, kind, and thoughtful, Carolyn's presence was a gift to all. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and loved, and her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carolyn's life was a testament to the beauty of a kind heart and the enduring strength of familial bonds. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her memory will be treasured forever as a reminder of the profound impact one life can have on so many.

Edward Eugene Landgrave
Edward Eugene Landgrave, 78, of Kokomo, passed away on March 2, 2025, in New Port Richey, Florida. He was born on December 13, 1946, in Peru, Indiana, the son of Harold Landgrave and Yulonda Flora. On March 4, 1967, at Main Street Methodist Church, he married Cathy Diana Waltrip, and she survives.
Edward graduated from Kokomo High School in 1965. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War earning the rank SP5. Edward retired as a Radio Repair Tech from Delphi Electronics after 42 years. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, camping, and doing archery. Edward loved traveling to Florida and spending time in the sun. He liked crossword puzzles and computer games like Battlefield.
Along with his wife of 58 years Cathy Landgrave, Edward is survived by: his children Tammy (Bill) Isley, Kimberly (Patrick) Wanzer, and Christie (Terry) Hoff; grandchildren Kayla (Justin) Humphries, Austin Hord, Max McHaney, and Chandler Hord; great-grandson Noah Humphries; siblings Sharon Malinowski, Sandi (John) Smith, Danny (Karen) Williams, Beverly Sabol, and Sherry Francey; and close friends Glenn Prater, Rocky Kline, and John Green.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, and stepmothers Thelma Landgrave and Mary Landgrave.
A memorial service celebrating Edward’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Jeff Haill officiating. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
