Leslie Gay Perry
Leslie Gay Perry, Kokomo, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the age of 80.
Leslie was born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana, and was a graduate of Valparaiso High School. Growing up, one of Leslie’s passions was ballet. Following high school, she continued to pursue ballet at the Edna Rae School of Dance in downtown Chicago.
Leslie attended Purdue University and graduated from the School of Nursing in 1978. She spent over 35 years in the healthcare industry as a Registered Nurse, holding roles as an ICU nurse, surgical nurse, utilization review nurse, and a home health nurse in Indiana and Tennessee before retiring and moving to Kokomo.
Leslie enjoyed the outdoors and had a love for animals, especially rescue cats and dogs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her pets. Some of her other hobbies included gardening, murder mystery movies, reading and watching the Weather Channel.
Leslie is survived by her children, Doug Perry (Susan) and Debbie Perry (Keith); two grandchildren and her two cats, Molly and Kitty.
Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Marie Sutherland; and her older brother, Lloyd Sutherland.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Gary Hoover officiating and nursing honors provided by the Nursing Honor Guard Serving North Central Indiana.
Estella Gena Law
Estella Gena Law, known affectionately as Gena, Mama-G, Mom, and Mom-Mom, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana, at the age of 77. Gena was born on April 24, 1947, at West Jersey Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, to the late George Ernest Law and Josephine Mary Law.
Gena was a woman of great faith, strength, and determination. She was deeply loved by her family and admired for her unwavering devotion to God, her love of music, and her remarkable practical skills. Gena graduated from Liberty University in 1989 and had a long and fulfilling career. She served as the Postmaster in Moorestown, NJ, and worked as a Certified IRS Accountant and Financial Administrator for Camp Haluwasa. She retired in 2010 from her position at Advanced Payroll Services, but her legacy extends far beyond her professional life.
A gifted musician, Gena was a proud member of the Golden Eagle Band for more than 40 years, playing music for her church and community. Her musical talents took her across the country, performing in places like Disney World and Orioles Stadium. She also had a special connection to the book of Revelation, which she studied with great interest.
Gena's travels included a memorable mission trip to Mexico, where she impressed everyone with her exceptional foreign currency exchange skills.
Gena’s creative spirit was expressed through her love of sewing, crocheting, gardening, and playing music. She had a dry sense of humor and a practical, no-nonsense approach to life that endeared her to everyone who knew her. Those who had the privilege of knowing her will remember her bright blue eyes, her kind heart, and the indelible mark she left on their lives.
She is survived by her brothers, George Ernest Law Jr. and Larry Eichel; her daughters, Jacqueline M. Kemper (Husband-Scott) and Colleen F. McCormick (Husband-Alex); and her cherished grandchildren, Anabelle Kemper, Alexis, Jasmine, Sean, Makenzie, and Brian McCormick.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a service to follow at 12:00 PM, at Eichel Funeral Home, 8323 Maple Avenue, Pennsauken, NJ 08109. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park, 1300 New Jersey 130, Cinnaminson, NJ, at 1:30 PM.

Gena will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of faith, music, and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Michael “Mike” Stephan Muhl
Michael “Mike” Stephan Muhl, 67, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on December 1, 2024, at his home. He was born on August 19, 1957, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of The Rev. A. Herbert and Marjorie Lou (Dannevik) Muhl.
In 1975, Mike graduated from Western High School in Russiaville, IN. He was a proud graduate of Purdue University, where he was a member of Beta Sigma Psi Fraternity. Mike was a huge Boilermakers sports fan. Meeting with his Beta Sig brothers at the annual reunion was often the highlight of Mike’s year.
For over 20 years, Mike worked as a CAD/CAM engineer for Mi-Tech Tungsten Metals. He previously worked at Thomson Consumer Electronics.
Mike enjoyed golfing, sports cars, genealogy, and spending time with family at Walloon Lake in Michigan. He shared his love of music, technology, and art with his children, each of whom made him proud. His loving, creative, and genuine spirit will continue to live on through them. He always encouraged everyone to be their own person and to enjoy life to its fullest.
Mike is survived by his children, Kayla Muhl, Tara Muhl, Brooke Muhl, and Jason Muhl; siblings, Karen (Larry) Robbins, Mary (Bob) Hingst, Janine (Brad) Bagwell, Kathy (Kirk) Simon, Jim (Susan) Muhl, and Felicia (Justin) Hollingshead; mother of his children, Susan Muhl; and several nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with Michael’s wishes no public services will be held at this time. In memory of Mike, memorial contributions can be made to Beta Sigma Psi, Lafayette Alumni Chapter via Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, which has been entrusted with cremation.
