Gary Allan Langley Jr.
Gary Allan Langley Jr., 55, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at IU North Hospital in Carmel, while surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born on July 24, 1969, to his parents, Gary Langley Sr. and Linda (Reecer) Langley. Gary married the love of his life, Pamela Holliday on July 22, 1989. They shared 35 years of marriage and a lifetime of beautiful memories.
Anyone who truly knew Gary would tell you of all his talents and abilities. He had a range of interests, many unique and impressive. In Gary’s younger years, he was a tattoo artist. His abilities in art carried over to custom pool cues. Originally, Gary wanted to be a professional pool player. His dream shifted to the constructing of pool cues, and he gained incredible success. In fact, he had the honor of making several custom cues for Keith McCready, who was at one time considered among the top pool professionals in America. Gary wasn’t just restricted to making pool cues. He was a gifted blacksmith and could make just about anything. Gary also enjoyed hunting and restoring old cars. He owned a 1970 Nova that he was thrilled to restore to its original beauty. It’s safe to say that Gary had an appreciation for history, world history as well as family history. He was part of war reenactment and was also part of a Viking group. Not only was it an honor to be part of organizations that share our country’s heritage, but it was rewarding to teach others about important historical events that they might not otherwise learn about. Gary was able to take his interests and teach others so often in his life. This growth and knowledge will continue through future generations with Gary’s study of family genealogy. This was yet another gift he lived out and has now left for his loved ones.
Gary graduated from Tipton High School in the class of 1987. He was employed with Bottcher Incorporated as Safety Coordinator for the past 20 years. Gary enjoyed his work very much and was always a dependable guy, not only at work but also for his family. Gary was a people person! For his family, he was involved, fully present, and offered unconditional support; his playful razzing and continuous teasing was the cherry on top. For his friends, he was able to be a safe place and sounding board. He authentically cared for others. He valued the connections he had in his life and appreciated people for who they were and what they had to bring to the table. Gary’s family jokes that he was the smartest uneducated man in the world. He was truly intelligent, but he also understood people and their needs and had the ability to meet them where they were to share his wisdom. Gary was an amazing man with a beautiful heart. He will be truly missed for the gift he was in so many lives!
Those left to carry on Gary’s legacy of love are his wife, Pam Langley; mother, Linda Langley; children, Holly Whitehead (Andrew), Blaze Langley (Callie); grandchildren, Hallee Whitehead, Audree Whitehead, Maddee Whitehead, Blayson Langley, Otto Langley; sister, Charlene Jones (Matt); nephew, Shaun Jones; and niece, Cheyenne Jones.
Gary was welcomed into Heaven by his father, Gary Langley; grandparents, William “Homer” and Belva Reecer, and Paul and Marie Langley.
A funeral service celebrating Gary’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton. Visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gary’s honor may be made to Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home during visitation.
