Sandra Lou Halupa

Sandra Lou Halupa, 86, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away August 24, 2024. She was born on February 14, 1938, in Elwood, Indiana, the daughter of Roscoe and Mable (Tyndall) Gardner. Sandy loved sports, the Chicago Bears, the Colts, Hoosiers, and was a big Cubs fan. She was a woman of faith. Her family was everything to her and she truly devoted herself to them. She also enjoyed dancing and won many contests in her younger days.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Penny (Jimmy) Slavey, Dino (Susan) Halupa, Timi (Tim) Shipley, Kenny (Robin) Halupa; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; devoted friend, Roma Donaldson.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Halupa, Sr.; brother, Danny Gardner; sisters, Mona Wells, Nancy Rosenquist.

Visitation will take place from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road Kokomo, Indiana 46902. James Calhoun

James Calhoun, 83, of Greentown, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Community Howard Regional Health surrounded by immediate family. Jim was born February 26, 1941, in Portland, IN, to Waldo and Doris Calhoun. He married Donna Craig in 1972.

Jim graduated from Tomlinson Tech in Clearwater Florida and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Delphi in 1998 as a Quality Engineer. Jim enjoyed restoring antique tractors and took great care tending his yard all while listening to Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, and ABBA. He often joked to not be surprised if he was caught listening to Christmas music in June.

Along with his wife of 52 years, Jim is survived by his daughter Peggy (Chris) Stokely, grandchildren Bailey (John) Williams and Ty Collier. Also surviving are children from a prior marriage in Texas, Rochelle (JD) Seals and Jeffrey (Missy) Calhoun with several grandkids and great grandchildren; sister Jane Mundy, Wanda Prickett; brother Tom (Shirley) Calhoun.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Waldo and Doris Calhoun, brother Terry Calhoun and brother in-law William Mundy.

Per Jim’s specific wishes, there will be no services at this time, but the family plans to have a celebration of life at a later time including military honors.
