Sue Lynn Fecher

Sue Lynn Fecher peacefully left us on the morning of Wednesday, July 17, 2024, two days shy of her 78th birthday. She was a resident of Century Villa in Greentown, IN, after living most of her adult life in Kokomo, IN.

She was born Sue Lynn Hodson on July 19, 1946, in Tipton County Hospital and was raised by Martha and Everett Hodson in Atlanta, IN.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Fecher. She loved him and missed him dearly every day after his passing. She is survived and cherished by her son, Scott Fecher.

She enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything in the world, both immediate and extended family. Her love was felt by too many to count, including her sisters and brothers: Calvin, John, Phyllis, Margaret, and Sandra, as well as many, many nieces and nephews, and everyone on Allen's side of the family.

Sue was a member of Brookside Free Methodist Church in Kokomo. When she was able, she regularly attended Sunday morning services and several church functions. She delighted in the church community, and they delighted in her.

A visitation for Sue will be held Monday, July 22, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Free Methodist Church, 190 E. 400 S., Kokomo, IN 46902, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Sue will be laid to rest in Albright Cemetery, 3910 Albright Rd., Kokomo, Indiana 46902.



Jack Wright Sutherland

Jack Wright Sutherland, USAF retired, 88, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. Born in Frankfort, Indiana, on September 9, 1935, to Gladys Wright and Harold Sutherland, he was the oldest of four children. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1952 and went on to be commissioned into the US Air Force. He met his wife, Lorena Marie Obermeyer, on a blind date in Bloomington, IN. They went on to marry, December 21, 1957, and have three children: Lisa Ann Sutherland, Lora Marie Delamer, and Mark Edward Sutherland. Jack retired from the US Air Force and moved from Rome, NY, to Tallahassee, FL, in 1979 to obtain an accounting degree from FSU and began a second career working for the state until 1995. In retirement, Jack enjoyed golf, traveling with his wife, and time with his grandchildren. He suffered from dementia during his final years, requiring care at St. Augustine Plantation.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Harold, and his sister, LaDonne Woodruff. He is survived by his wife, Lorena, his children, Lisa Sutherland in Tallahassee, Lora Delamer and her husband Kevin in Hilton Head, SC, Mark Sutherland, MD and his wife Caroline in Texarkana, TX, as well as his brother, James Sutherland and sister, Connie Longest, and his grandchildren: Joseph, Amanda, James, Tyler, John, Megan, Bailey, Kaitlyn, and Jordan.

Services will be held at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S Main St. in Kokomo, IN on Thursday, July 25 from 10:00-11:00 AM.



Terri J. Smith

Terri J. Smith, 64 of Tipton, died Wednesday July 17, 2024, at I.U. North Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1960, in Tipton, Indiana, to Don and Dorothy (Smith) Lane. After spending over nine years together, she married her sweetheart, Gary L. Smith, on May 1, 1993, thus spending over 40 years together.

Terri was always working at providing for others. She stayed busy with her crafting and enjoyed selling items at weekend events with Gary. She was an avid camper and motorcycle enthusiast. At one point she became the leader for the local Girl Scout Brownies group to ensure their continued existence. While her children were in school, she supported the Tri-Central Band and Guard with their fundraisers and activities. She believed in God and country and was not afraid to show those beliefs.

Survivors include her husband Gary, children Bryan Schroeder (Ashlee) of Brazil, Indiana, Brendon Schroeder (Amanda) of Greencastle, Indiana, Alycia Smith Daleo (Michael) of Kokomo and Amy Smith of Tipton. Her six grandchildren include Ezri, Olivia and Benjamin Schroeder, Jackson and Mason Daleo and Grayson Smith.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 30, 2024, at 3:0 0P.M. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. Her daughter-in-law Ashlee will preside. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from noon until 3:00 P.M. prior to the memorial. Burial will follow at Normanda Cemetery.
