Mary Kathleen Tucker
Mary Kathleen Tucker said she was ready, and angels came and carried her home at 10:35 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Community Howard Regional in Kokomo.
She is survived by her husband Virgil L. Tucker and five children: Patricia Pierce, Martha Sands, Philip Tucker, Wilma Castillo, and Rebecca Cook; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren (and one on the way).
She is preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Minnie Violet Morris, an infant daughter Donna Mae Tucker, a grandson Paul Neil Richardson, and five siblings.
She was a homemaker. She loved her family and was kind, gentle, loving, and forgiving. She attended church at Century Villa and Family Worship Center when she could. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She believed the best and hoped the best for them and always had a smile and encouraging word in even the middle of adversity. She enjoyed crafts, bingo, going to church, and living life with her family. She was an inspiration to all of her family, faithful to her God and family.
A visitation for Mary will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46901, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park. Carolyn “Sue” Harlow
Carolyn “Sue” Harlow, 87, of Tipton, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, at her home. She was born March 7, 1937, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Jesse and Florence (Garver) Welcher. On December 18, 1953, she married James “Jim” Harlow at Rock Prairie Church, who preceded her in death on October 17, 2008.
Sue was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife most of her life. She was a member of Rock Prairie Church, Kokomo China Painting Guild, Community of Limetree Park, Longaberger Basket Club, and the Tipton County Home Economics Club. She enjoyed ceramics, China painting, shopping, and sewing as she made a lot of clothes over the years. Above all, Sue loved serving and spending time with her family. She volunteered many hours at Tipton Hospital and was considered a greeter at church before greeting teams were put together.
Sue is survived by her three sons, Jeff (Becky) Harlow, Brian (Rachelle) Harlow and Mike (Cris) Harlow, all of Tipton; two daughters, Bethany (Mike) Taylor, Tipton, and Marcia (Tony) McCauley, Sharpsville; grandchildren, Will (Tricia) Harlow, Leslie (Curt) Raab, Jessica (Josh) Kluetz, Jennifer (Dave) Conrad, Adrianne Harlow, Ben (Jenee) Harlow, Shanna (Nate) Conner, Nicole (BJ) Dunham, Alisha (Trenton) Casler, Brian Strebin, Jake (Lucy) Taylor, Andrew (Natalie) McCauley, Katrina (Tom) Elliott, John (Ashley) Harlow, Luke (Kayla) Harlow, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Burden, and Emily (Daniel) Preston; 39 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Norma Whitehead, Pat Fiscus, Chris Bogue, Karen Buck, and Nina Smith.
In addition to her husband Jim, Sue was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenny Welcher; and grandchildren, Richard Harlow, and Marci Strebin.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, at Rock Prairie Church, 421 Ash Street, Tipton, with Sue’s son, Pastor Jeff Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Normanda Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, and from 10 a.m. until the start of the service on Friday, both at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Prairie Church in Sue’s memory. The funeral service will also be available via webcast.
