Henry “Hank” Winston Edwards
Henry “Hank” Winston Edwards, 68, of Greentown, passed away 6:12 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. He was born in Flint, MI, on July 27, 1955, the son of the late Glen Edwards Sr. and Viola (Frederickson) Edwards. On January 17, 1976, he married Theresa Short at Community Bible Church in Greentown, and she survives.
Henry was a 1974 graduate of Eastern High School. He earned an Associate’s degree from Lincoln Technical Institute. He worked as the Head Fleet Mechanic with UPS for 33 years until his retirement. Henry was heavily involved with youth sports like baseball, pixie league softball, and he assisted coaching varsity football at Eastern. He drove a school bus for Eastern School Corp. and was often referred to as “Coach” by the students. Henry was a kind and very social man who was passionate about taking care of others. He was the best Poppie to his grandchildren. He was a muscle car buff and enjoyed drag racing in Bunker Hill.
In addition to his wife Theresa, Henry is survived by his children, Josh (Jennifer) Edwards, Sandi (Heath) Pharris; grandchildren, Eli and Abe Edwards, Callan, Riley, and Hayes Pharris; siblings, Glen Edwards Jr., Dee (Darrell Causey) Baugher-Causey; in-laws, Janice (Tom) Languell, Victor (Patty) Short, Tony (Michelle) Short; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Graves; sister-in-law, Roxann Edwards; and father-in-law, Charles Short.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Christian Life Fellowship Church, 1009 Holiday Drive, Greentown, IN 46936. Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm with Pastor Logan Sparling officiating. Max Allen Myers
Max Allen Myers, 78, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at his home. He was born on January 23, 1945, in Kokomo, the son of Omer Eugene and Phyllis J. (Sowash) Myers. On April 21, 1973, he married Pamela C. Geiger, and she survives.
Max graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1965. He proudly served in the United States National Guard. After serving in the National Guard, he worked at Delco Electronics and retired after 40 years. Max loved sports, he loved coaching his sons and other kids in the Oak Hill community. When he wasn’t at a ballfield or a gym he enjoyed fishing, hunting, auto racing, and playing golf. He enjoyed following Oak Hill Athletics, Notre Dame Football, The New York Yankees, The Detroit Lions, the races, and his favorites were Dale Earnhardt Sr. & Jr. and A.J. Foyt. Max especially loved whatever activities his two boys or grandchildren were involved in. He enjoyed listening to music by Frank Sinatra and Hank Williams Jr.
Max is survived by his wife, Pamela Myers of Marion, IN; sons, Victor (Anne) Myers of Manitowoc, WI, A.J. (Amy) Myers of Marion, IN; grandchildren, Abby Myers of Howard’s Grove, WI, Jack Myers of Manitowoc, WI, Brianna Myers of Marion, IN, Alexa Myers of Marion, IN, and Ryleigh Myers of Marion, IN; siblings, Carolyn (Gene) Miller of Converse, IN, Keith Myers of Converse, IN, Mike (Patricia) Myers of Converse, IN, and Pat (Paula) Myers of Converse, IN; nephews, Todd (Kristie) Myers of Buffalo, NY , Mick (Krissy) Miller of Swayzee, IN, and Michael (Heather) Myers of Wabash, IN; and several great nieces and nephews.
Preceding Max in death were his parents, brothers, Ralph Eugene (Gene) Myers, and Larry Myers; sister-in-law, Joyce Myers; nephews, Chris Warnock and Chris Myers; and in-laws, John D. & Julia McDaniel.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday December 4, 2023, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 East Main Street, Greentown, IN. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made in Max’s name to Oak Hill High School Athletic Fund.
