Loretta Lou Auten
Loretta Lou Auten, 87, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away August 28, 2023. She was born on August 20, 1936 in Kokomo, IN the daughter of Eugene Harold and Lettie (Land) Robinson. She was a 1954 graduate of Kokomo High School. Loretta was a professional seamstress and was able to create amazing fashions and owned her own upholstery shop. She enjoyed many intricate crafts such as diamond dotz, and anything involving sewing. She also loved square dancing and round dancing.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Donna (Don) Hamilton; daughter, Barbara (John) Ranieri; grandchildren, Lorre Ann Rayls, John Allen, Michelle (Dave) Birden, Adam Owsley, Ashlei Smith, Laure Steininger; 6 great-grandchildren, Patrick (Sol) Porter, Jesse (Maria Bosler) Porter, Tyler (Gabrielle) Rayls, Brayden Meyer, Kaelyn Campbell, Marlei Detmore ; 6 great-great grandchildren, Aydan, River, Noah, Emma, Forrest, Francisco; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; daughters, Kym and Robin.
Visitation will be First Baptist Church of Galveston on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 11:00 am until the start of funeral services at 1:00 pm. Share a memory with the family at www.ellersmortuary.com.
Brian Warne Cossell
Brian Warne Cossell, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at his home.
He was born the second of twin boys on March 24, 1940, to the late Bradford and Leona (Baldwin) Cossell. Brian met his wife Faye (Miller) while attending Eastern Illinois University and were married on May 10, 1962, in Charleston, IL and she survives.
Brian was a 1958 graduate of Kokomo High School. He was an outstanding athlete that contributed to an undefeated senior football season and was one of the best high jumpers in the state. But one of Brian's favorite athletic achievements was when by chance, on a family vacation to Mackinac Island, entered and won the "World Championship of Stone Skipping" which is still held to this day on July 4!
Brian was proud of his landscaping business, which he excelled in, from its early beginnings in the spring of 1973 through today's continued success. He was also a large contributor to his wife Faye's restaurant (Pastarrific) from its early days in Maple Crest Plaza to its current success on webster street.
Brian was extremely proud of his two boys and followed their collegiate athletic careers across the Midwest in the mid 1980's, then continuing his support of his five grandchildren's athletic careers while capturing photographs and keepsakes from every treasured moment.
Brian is survived by his wife Faye Cossell; two sons Brent (Ann Marie) and Brian (Janice) Kokomo; five grandchildren Camron Cossell and partner (Cassidy Newman) Kokomo, Calven Cossell and (Breana) Kokomo, Catie Burns (Gary) Kokomo, Carlee Floyd (Kobey) Kokomo, Courtnee Cossell-Smallwood (Dalton) Kokomo; and five great-grandchildren Declan and Mia Cossell Kokomo, Elouise and Hazel Burns Kokomo, and Cooper Floyd Kokomo.
Preceded in death are his parents Bradford and Leona Cossell; and twin brother Paul Cossell.

A visitation for Brian will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Friends of Church at 1801 Zartman Road, Kokomo IN 46902.
Marilyn June (Willis) Tooley
Marilyn June (Willis) Tooley, 94, Kokomo, passed away at 5:15 pm Friday, August 25, 2023, at Brickyard Healthcare. She was born July 23, 1929, the daughter of Charles and Stella (Nay) Willis. On November 10, 1946, in Kokomo, she married William Warner Tooley Jr. who preceded her in death on March 15, 2020.
She moved to Florida in 1979 and returned to Kokomo in 2018. Marilyn and William were members of Port Charlotte Church of Christ for 30 years and currently members of the Center Road Church of Christ. She was a lifelong artist and created beautiful paintings.
She is survived by her children, Penny (Richard) Rossini and Janis (Larkin) Parsons; grandchildren, Andrea (Gary) Purcell, Angela Stephens, Marc Parsons, Bradley Parsons, Ryan Parsons, Thomas (Ashley) Tooley, and Samantha Tooley; great-grandchildren, Devin Garro, Kaleigh Atchley, Jessica Rossini, Simon Tooley; step-great-grandchildren, Jessica Pegram, Allen Purcell, Amanda Purcell, and Ella Purcell; great-great-grandchildren, Dash Garro, Crixus Purcell; sisters, Judy Jarratt and Nancy Weaver; brother, John Willis; and daughter-in-law Susan Tooley.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, William Tooley; son, Thomas William Tooley; grandson, Michael Parsons; parents, Charles and Stella; brothers, Dick Willis, Marion Willis, Jack Willis, and Gerry Willis; sisters, Jean DeLarm, and Joyce Land.
There are no public services scheduled at this time. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
