Otis “Otie” Vern Eltzeroth
Otis “Otie” Vern Eltzeroth, 64, of Grafton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully in his home on March 18, 2025. Otie was born March 11, 1961, to Otis Sr. and Joann Eltzeroth in Kokomo, Indiana.
Otie was raised in Kokomo, Indiana, where he attended Kokomo High School. He worked throughout his life at sawmills. He grew up loving to fish, hunt, and ride his motorcycle, and he didn’t love to do it with anyone more than his best friend Butch Horner. He was blessed by the birth of his children Zachary, Kristin, and Sarah. In 1992, Otie moved to his ancestral home of Grafton, West Virginia, where he remained for the rest of his days. In 1993, On December 8, he married Brenda (Sprouse) Eltzeroth, and his life was further enriched by her children Brenda Lynn, David Lee, and Jamie “Elmo.” Otie lived out his days continuing to do what he loved in a place where his soul belonged. He would hunt throughout the mountains, fish at his beloved private pond, and live amongst nature which he held so dearly. He found joy in being a “Happy” and a “Pappy” to all of his grandchildren.
Otie is survived in death by his wife Brenda Eltzeroth of Grafton, WV, his son Zachary Ruby and daughters Kristin (CJ) Ruby and Sarah Eltzeroth, all of Kokomo, and his daughter Brenda Lynn (Roger) Daff and sons David Lee (Angel) Conrad and Jamie (Ashley) Conrad, all of Grafton, West Virginia, his grandchildren Peyton, Mason, and Emmett of Kokomo, IN, and Shashauna, David, Holly, Hope, Alex, and Jayden of Grafton, WV, his brother Butch Brown of Indianapolis, IN, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Otis was preceded in death by his mother, father and siblings Betty Caine, Joann Miller, and Larry Brown, his grandson Brandon Conrad, and his nephew Trent Brown.
Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, West Virginia, on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 10:00AM until noon — the hour of the funeral — with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the family cemetery at Sandy Creek in Knottsville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his funeral care fund on his memorial website. William “Billy” Martin Hamblin
William “Billy” Martin Hamblin, of Macy, IN, passed away 4:45 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2025, at Kokomo Healthcare Center. He was born in Langley, Virginia, on April 26, 1956, the son of the late Wilbur and Ann (Spout) Hamblin. On August 18, 1990, he married Theresa (Harpool) at home in Bringhurst, and she survives.
Billy was a graduate of Haworth High School. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in 2009 after 30 years of service as a job setter. Billy always had a positive outlook on life with an outgoing and upbeat demeanor. He was a people-person who was energized from socializing with others. He loved having a good time. Billy was most comfortable spending time outdoors while fishing, hunting, or camping. He will be remembered for hosting the best hog roasts and for relaxing at his house on Lake Nyona.
In addition to his wife Theresa, Billy is survived by his children Chad (Mandi) Hamblin, Michelle (Larry) McDonald, and Derek Delrymple, siblings Patty Maxwell, Paul (Carla) Hamblin, and Joey (Cathy) Hamblin, 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna Hunter, aunt Rita Garrett, and brother-in-law Johnny Maxwell.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902. A memorial service celebrating Billy’s life will begin at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Barb Taflinger officiating.
David Henry Rossi
David Henry Rossi. Husband to one, father to four, and friend to all. On Friday, March 14, 2025, at the age of 83, he left this world and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born on January 22, 1942, to David & Eleanor (Yale) Rossi. On February 27, 1965, he married the love of his life Grace Ann Mosloskie in Easton, PA.
David worked for Lehigh Foundry, and after their closing, he drove a truck for more than 20 years before retiring in 2008. He was a giving man who would help anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and archery with his family. He was a longtime member of Merrill Creek Conservation & Sportsman Association. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Easton, PA, from the early ‘70s until he moved to Kokomo in 2010. He held various positions there, ranging from deacon to Sunday School teacher, but is probably most remembered as a Bus Captain who would go and pick up children and adults for church. His desire was to bring people to Jesus.
In addition to his wife Grace Rossi, he is survived by his sons David Rossi Jr. and Charles Rossi, daughter Roxanne (Thomas) Kronk, brothers Raymond Rossi and William (Merla) Rossi, sister Darlene (Gary) Hasko, sisters-in-law Betty (Thomas) Vogt and Rose Poyer, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kelly Jo Rossi, daughter-in-law Brenda Rossi, and brothers Roy Poyer, James Poyer, and Alex Ferri.
Burial will take place at a later date in South Easton Cemetery in Pennsylvania. Cremation has been entrusted to Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory in Kokomo. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
