Annetta Louise White
Annetta Louise White, 91, of Kokomo, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent- Kokomo. She was born on August 18, 1933, in Howard County, Indiana, the daughter of Joseph and Magdalene (Indrutz) Vent. On May 31, 1953, she married L. Wayne White at First Baptist Church in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2013.
Annetta graduated from Western High School in 1951. She helped write the Western High School fight song that is still the fight song to this day. Annetta was one of the first graduating classes after the consolidation of Western. Annetta worked for Indiana Bell as a switchboard operator for many years. She was a member of the Purdue Extension Homemakers Club, the Red Hat Society, Phi Chi Epsilon, and a Cub Scout Leader. Annetta attended Judson Baptist Church for over 70 years.
Annetta is survived by her children, Tim (Molly) White, Melissa (Bruce) Shanks, Jim (Kim) White, and Melanie (Bill) Casner; grandchildren, Jesse (Cindy) White, Jonathan (Tiffani) White, Sarah White, Morgan (Craig) Shearer, Meagan (Ben) Rater, Abby (Chris) Ogden, Brandon (Lauren) Shanks, Aubrey (Clayton) Donlan, and Claire Casner; great-grandchildren, Annetta White, Briston White, Keelin White, Holden White, Gabriella White, Anna Shanks, Alice Shanks, Samuel Shanks, Conrad Donlan, Becca Donlan, Karina Donlan, Landon Donlan, Emma Donlan, Madison Shearer, Hunter Shearer, Brielle Rater, Brecken Rater, Aurelia Ogden, and Parilee Ogden; and sisters-in-law, Marlene Vent and Edith Vent.
Along with her husband of 60 years, L. Wayne White, Annetta was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Aurelia Newcom, Sam Vent, Annie Slusher, Helen Kinney Morris, Marie Ortman, John Vent, Joe Vent, and Paul Vent; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Phyllis) White and Norma (John) Bandelier.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Judson Baptist Church, 1995 N 750 W, Kokomo, with one hour of visiting prior to the service. Pastor Luann Young will be officiating. Burial will follow in Barnett Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday January 12, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E Main Street, Russiaville. Jacqueline "Jackie" Kay Chavez
Jacqueline "Jackie" Kay Chavez, age 61, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born on December 11, 1963, in Kokomo to the late Jack and Irma (Durbin) Lemons.
Jackie graduated from Ivy Tech Community College where she earned her associate's degree. She enjoyed knitting, watching TV, and spending time with her family when she could. Jackie loved all three of her fur-babies.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael Chavez and Anthony Chavez; three grandchildren, Layla Chavez, Jacob Chavez, and Nicole Chavez; two sisters, Teresa (Rick) Bogan and Debbie (Jack) Stifler; and her fur-babies, Archer, Derpy, and Tali.
Preceding in death is her parents and her brother, Clifford Lemons.
There will be a graveside service at Crown Point Cemetery that will be announced a later date.
