Elizabeth Ann Foster

Elizabeth Ann Foster was born on January 17, 1937, to Frank and Margaret Kelly near Hemlock, Indiana. The middle child of five, Beth loved looking up to older siblings Frances and Keith, while also helping take care of younger siblings Vera and Albert. She talked frequently about their life growing up on the farm, her mom’s love of cooking, and the hard work of her father to provide for the family.

At 17, Beth married the love of her life, Larry Foster. They were the definition of a loyal, dedicated, and kind marriage. Beth took pride in caring for her husband in good health and bad. Together, they raised three sons: Kevin, Kelly, and Tim. They also raised an unofficial fourth son in Tim McElfresh.

Having a love for children, Beth fit right in at Western Primary as the school's librarian. She met some of her dearest friends while working there; she was particularly excited to be in the building the years it overlapped her eldest grandchild, Amie. Beth also volunteered at two Kokomo non-profits that meant so much to her: Guardian Angels and Nesting Doves. Guardian Angels Hospice gave her the opportunity to serve her community, and she had a patient, empathetic heart for hospice needs. Nesting Doves filled her heart up as she got to love on babies as she helped young mothers adjust to their new role.

Beth was a firm believer in the power and teachings of Jesus Christ. Larry and Beth were devoted members of both Southside Christian Church and Shiloh Methodist Church over the years. She participated in Bible studies, the fellowship team, the creation of prayer quilts for those in need, and frequently volunteered to cook and organize repasts held in the church sanctuary.

Beth was a top tier cook and baker. By her grandkids, she was known for exquisite biscuits and gravy, peanut butter fudge, and corn casserole. Beth had a green thumb and loved potting plants in the springtime. She was always in the mood to look at a beautiful bouquet of flowers. She and Larry were avid Purdue Boilermaker fans. Together, they spent many seasons attending both football and basketball games on campus.

Beth loved her family. She was the mom, the grandma, and the great grandma that showed up. The best things she had to offer, over and over again, were unconditional love, support, and time. She showed off her family as the greatest prized possessions she had.

Beth is now reconnected with her beloved Larry; sister, Frances; daughter-in-law, Sherry; and parents, Frank and Margaret.

She leaves behind siblings Keith, Vera, and Albert; and sons Kevin (Tanya), Kelly, and Tim (Heidi); seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place at 4 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2024, Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E Main St., Russiaville. Private burial will take place in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the following locations: Guardian Angels Hospice: https://guardianangelhospice.com/engage/donate/ or Nesting Doves of Kokomo, IN.
