Nancy Sue (Kratzer) Campbell
Nancy Sue (Kratzer) Campbell, 80, Windfall, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at her home. She was born in Kokomo on March 11, 1944, to the late John Pence and Helen (Davenport) Kratzer. On September 1, 1962, she married Larry Eugene Campbell, who preceded her in death in 2016.
She grew up in Roann, Indiana, and graduated from Roann High School in 1962, the last graduating class of Roann. Nancy attended cosmetology school in Kokomo and was a licensed hairdresser for many years. Nancy and Larry started growing pumpkins, selling them roadside and at the Atlanta Earth Festival. They grew the venture into Campbell’s Pumpkin Patch and operated in Wabash, IN, for 24 years. The patch became known for its family appeal, and several hundred school-aged children came for field trips annually in the fall.
Nancy enjoyed going to Florida in the wintertime, gardening, sewing, cross-stitch, IU sports, Notre Dame football, her cat, “Banda,” family get-togethers, socializing with friends and her church family, as well as attending great-grandchildren’s events.
She is survived by her children, Lisa (Michael) Dever of Windfall, Elizabeth (Michael) Sanders of Converse, and Christopher (Debra) Campbell of Kokomo; grandchildren, Travis (Samantha) Harding of Kokomo, Barkley (Karl) Klaiber of Syracuse, NY, Lauren (Christopher) Dever of Swayzee, Jessica (Nathan) Campbell of Amboy, and Kaleb Sanders of Kokomo; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and sisters, Sara VanBuskirk and Judy Cole.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W Lincoln Rd., Kokomo with Pastor Mike Ennis officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash, IN. Friends may visit the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to Victory Christian Academy, St Jude Children’s Hospital, or Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mrs. Jeanette Washington Tolerson
It is with great love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanette Washington Tolerson, who left us on November 14, 2024, at the age of 91, in Kokomo, Indiana. Born on May 14, 1933, Jeanette graced this world with her kindness, compassion, and an unwavering spirit that inspired all who knew her.
Jeanette life was a testament to resilience and love. She brought joy to her family and friends with her warm smile and generous heart. Throughout her years, she created countless cherished memories, always finding ways to lift those around her through her caring nature.
Her journey on this Earth will be honored with visitation on November 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a heartfelt funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Second Missionary Baptist Church, located at 818 N Apperson Way, Kokomo, IN 46901. The service will conclude at 1:30 PM, allowing family and friends to come together to celebrate Jeanette's remarkable life and legacy.
As we reflect on the loving impact Jeanette Washington Tolerson had on our lives, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will continue to live on through the love she shared with everyone she met.
Michael O. Davis
Michael O. Davis, age 71, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 19, 2024, at Brickyard Healthcare in Indianapolis. Born in Tipton on June 28, 1953, he was the son of Glynn O. and Bonnie J. (Tilley) Davis.
Michael graduated from Tipton High School in 1972. Throughout his career, he worked at Quaker Oats for several years before becoming a barber instructor in Indianapolis. He had a passion for life that included activities such as fishing, bowling, and camping. Michael often described himself as a very common man, reflecting his humble nature.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Paula A. Goar.
A private family burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Davis Family in their time of need.
Elizabeth Ann (Keith) Turnpaugh
Elizabeth Ann (Keith) Turnpaugh, 75, of Kokomo, passed away November 17, 2024, at Aperion Health Care Kokomo. She was born in Kokomo, IN, on January 19, 1949, the daughter of the late Ivan and Gertrude (Trueblood) Keith. On January 12, 1968, Elizabeth married Donald Ray Turnpaugh, who preceded her in death on May 9, 2019. Elizabeth later married Daniel E Niles on June 2, 2021, who survives.
She received her diploma/GED and worked different jobs but mostly was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, music (Elvis), crafts, and games. Elizabeth attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years. Most of all she loved her Shih Tzu dogs, the latest of which is Muffy.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband Daniel Niles and her sister Rosemary Bohlman; her sons Donald Jr (Christina) Turnpaugh and Andrew (Emma) Turnpaugh; grandchildren Amber Wells, Megan (Cole) Augustine, Dustin Turnpaugh, Ashton Turnpaugh, Andrew Turnpaugh Jr, Haylie and Dakota Turnpaugh, and great-grandson Jesse Augustine.
Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her son Jason Matthew Turnpaugh; her sisters Florabell Doll and Nancy Sparks; her brothers Robert Keith, Richard Keith, and David Keith.
There will be no services as the immediate family is remembering her privately.
