James “Jim” I. Pittman
James “Jim” I. Pittman, 67, passed away October 28, 2024, at 8:14 p.m. in Mercy West Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born February 19, 1957, in Mayfield, KY, the son of the late Pete and Sue (Irvin) Pittman. On September 4, 1982, he married Debbie Honeas in Sycamore, IN, and she survives.
Jim was a graduate of Eastern High School. In 2015, he retired from Valvoline after 38 years of service. Jim enjoyed playing pool and watching NASCAR and football while drinking beer, especially while watching his Kansas City Chiefs.
In addition to his wife Debbie, Jim is survived by his fur baby, Lilly; sisters, Suzette (Lanny) Lancaster, and Gina Kelliher; along with several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, John and Miriam Honeas; brother-in-law, Dale Honeas; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with Chaplain John Murdoch officiating. A burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the start of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Jeffrey L. Pickett
Jeffrey L. Pickett, 70, of Tipton, passed away at home on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was born in Tipton on June 7, 1954, to Clarence & Marjorie (Armour) Pickett.
Jeff had recently started working at Burger King after having worked at the Tipton Recycle Center, and before that he worked many years for Jim Walker in his trash hauling business, among other jobs.
He was a graduate of Tipton High School in the Class of 1972. Jeff loved to read and was very good in drawing. When time allowed, he loved to slip away and spend some time fishing.
Jeff is survived by his sister Margaret E. “Mickey” Ryan of Tipton; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Pickett and Margaret Pickett and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Reid C. Pickett, Mike I. Pickett and Leslie R. Pickett.
For many years Jeff had requested no funeral after he passed away and his family is honoring his request. He will be cremated and buried at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
