Justin Tyler Schreckenghaust

May 28, 1992 ~ October 1, 2024 (age 32)

Justin Tyler Schreckenghaust was born in Kokomo Indiana on May 28, 1992. He is the son of Mike Schreckenghaust and Sherry (Schroeder) Capello. To this day, he remains very much loved!

As a young man, Justin spent his school-aged years in New England. He enjoyed music – attending festivals, “promoting” concerts, and playing the viola. He played sports and was athletic. He was artistic and creative. Justin enjoyed drawing/painting, and his artwork was displayed at his school. One of his pieces was acknowledged with a John Hancock Art Award. He loved skateboarding, snowboarding, fishing, and crafts. He maneuvered adeptly on all types of skateboards, and these were his preferred form of transportation around. He loved the freedom these afforded him. He would cut up the slopes and enjoyed the winter sport whenever he could, whether it is in New England or one of the “14-er” peaks in Colorado.

Justin attended Norwood High Schools in Norwood, MA, then attended Plymouth State University in New Hampshire for college. Justin was often entrepreneurial. Justin became a friend to all he encountered.

Anyone who truly knows Justin will attest to his humble, witty, and kind attributes. Just ask his family, friends, and acquaintances, and they will tell you that he would want you to be well and have positive vibes. Justin would offer you the shirt off his back, or just a smile and some encouragement.

His extraordinary journey with us ended too soon.

Justin is survived by his father, Mike (Christy) Schreckenghaust; mother, Sheree (James Barry) Capello; siblings, Paul Capello, Elizabeth (Garret) Sparks, Maggie Schreckenghaust, Emma Schreckenghaust; grandparents, Sandra Schroeder, David Zehring, Pat and Don Schreckenghaust; uncles, Chris Hood, Don Schreckenghaust II; stepfather, Kevin Capello; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory in Kokomo has been entrusted with cremation.
