Max A. Wilson

Max A. Wilson, 82, of Indianapolis, formerly of Galveston and LaPorte, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Story Cottage Memory Care home in Indianapolis. He was born March 9, 1942, in Galveston to Harley B. and Lucille (Thompson) Wilson. He married Pamela Ann Shawver June 14, 1964, in Walton, Indiana, and she survives.

Max served his country in the United States Army from 1966–1968 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Over decades he served with Farm Credit Services, Production Credit Association, Federal Intermediate Credit Bank, PCA (again), and finally LaPorte Bank & Trust which became Norwest and then Wells Fargo. He retired from Wells Fargo Bank in 2004 as vice president specializing in commercial lending. For 16 years of retirement, Max and Pam enjoyed traveling around the U.S. in their RV and wintered in Arizona, Texas, and Florida to avoid the LaPorte snow. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2024.

For the 43 years that he enjoyed living on the KOP Circle, Max actively participated in a weekly small group Bible study that began at First Baptist Church of LaPorte and continued through many other churches. Max was a huge supporter of his church and counseled many family and friends with financial matters. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and enjoyed playing golf, geocaching, and pickleball.

Surviving family include his wife Pamela of Indianapolis; his children, Stacy and husband Bob Burger of Indianapolis; Scott Alexx Wilson of New Carlisle, Indiana, and Shayla and husband Gary Evans of LaPorte, Indiana. Surviving grandchildren include Elizabeth (Josh) Morris, Ruth (Zach) Elliott, Sarah (Kyle) Schmidt, Mariah (Isaac) Hertzler, Hannah (Stefon) Elliott, Benjamin, Verla, and John Burger, Matthew Froehike, Bailey (Austin) Travis-Bentz, Alexis Arnett and William Arnett. Max is also blessed with five great grandchildren, Angie, Evangeline, Steven, Charlotte,Theodore, and one more boy in September. Two sisters also survive, Carol Swank and Mary Lou White. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tom and Charles Wilson, sister, Linda Rouch and an infant brother David Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at United in Faith Church, 515 S. Maple Street in Galveston with Pastor Phil Jackson of Christ the King church officiating. Burial will follow services in Galveston Cemetery. A public visitation will be held prior to services from 11:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to United in Faith Church of Galveston.



Nancy Lee Price

Nancy Lee Price, 77, of Walton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo with her family by her side. She was born June 15, 1947, in Monroe, Michigan, to Edward and Laura (Gardner) Finley. She married the love of her life, Paul Price, November 11, 1967, and he survives.

Nancy was loved by so many in the Walton community. She was the town babysitter, taking care of over 300 children in the Walton area over many years. She loved cooking for her family and friends and was affectionally know to some as Nanny Noodle. She loved baking cookies for the Lewis Cass Cross Country Team. Nancy and Paul were the proud sponsors of the Lewis Cass Cross Country banquet every year. The Cross-Country team would sometimes make their way to Nancy and Paul’s during a practice run just to visit for a minute or have a cookie or two. Nancy and Paul were a fixture for many sporting events for the Lewis Cass sports teams for many years.

She is survived by her loving husband Paul, and children, Kendra (Dale) Sleppy of New Palestine, Indiana, Jeff (Tracey) Price of Peru, Indiana, James Price of Walton, Indiana, and Allison (James Pericaud) Price of Debary, Florida. Surviving grandchildren include, Bryson and Bailey Sleppy, Reed (Casey) Price, Lydia Judy, Alexandria (Dalton) McDougle, Jameson Price and Carlin Price. Nancy is also blessed with three great grandchildren, Dallas Price, Nala McDougle and Kylen McDougle. One brother also survives, David Finley of Kissimmee, Florida. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with pastor and longtime friend Bill Collins officiating. Visitation will take place prior to services Thursday from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Walton Christian Church Benevolence Fund in Nancy’s memory. Sara Jayne Bultman

Sara Jayne Bultman, 72, Kokomo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at her home. She was born November 13, 1951, in New Castle, IN, the daughter of the late James Roy and Norma Delberta (Tetrick) Leo. On November 17, 1967, she married the love of her life, Danny J. Bultman, who proceeded her in death on March 27, 1994.

Sara came from humble beginnings, she grew up in the small town of Milton, IN, the youngest of four children. She attended the Milton School as a child and later graduated from Connersville High School. Sara would later return to school, as a mother, and graduate from Indiana University at Kokomo in 1983 with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science. She worked at Insight (Telecable) for 18 years serving in various roles until leaving as the Pay-Per-View Manager. After leaving she worked at GTE Westfield and Key Bank Kokomo. Sara was a child of God, never losing her faith in Him. She was a fierce prayer warrior for friends and her entire family. She was active in the church for many years serving in various roles from a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and on the worship team. She attended New Life Church, formerly Southside Assembly, First Assembly of God and In His image Church. Sara was a loving mother, wife, and friend to anyone that crossed her path throughout life, always placing the needs of others before her own. Sara’s greatest joy in life came when she became a “Mamaw” to her grandson Eli, whom she admired and adored with all her heart. She loved talking with and spending every moment she could with him, it gave her great joy and happiness.

Sara is survived by her son, Mike (Ellen) Bultman; grandson, Eli Bultman; and sister, Lois (Wes) Wojtas, along with several nieces and nephews

Sara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Danny; daughter Jeri Michelle Bultman, her precious angel; and siblings, James “Jimmy” Leo and Linda “Sue” Moore.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Michael Alexander Romero

Michael Alexander Romero, 43, formerly of Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away Monday August 26, 2024, at his home. He was born in Plantation, FL, on July 6, 1981, the son of Diego R. Romero and Maria A. Garcia.

Mike was the current owner of his insurance business. He was passionate about working on his sobriety and helping others achieve their own. He had recently celebrated 2 years and 363 days of sobriety. He assisted and led several groups such as First City Recovery, HNI Work Release Program, and Friday night Back to Basic. Mike created his own group called The Hot Dog Meeting that he hosted at his home every Tuesday night. Mike had a strong Christian faith. He loved working out and the time spent with his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his parents, Diego and Maria Romero; brothers, Kevin (Joannaliz) Romero, Reynaldo (Dawn) Romero.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Antonio and Olga Garcia, Omelio Garcia, and Blanca Izquierdo.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Fort Lauderdale. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
