Austin Casto

Austin was born in Anderson, Indiana, on May 4, 2005, to Joanna (Ray) & Brad Whitman and Bryan Casto Sr. (biological father). He attended Tipton High School, and recently graduated in the class of 2024.

Austin had a sweet spirit! He drew others in with his fun and goofy personality. Austin brought a lot of joy to his family and friends. He loved dad jokes and had the ability to always make others laugh. Austin never had a shortage of friends, which is a testament to who he was. If he was in your life, you knew you had been blessed with a truly genuine, loyal, and authentic friend!

Austin was incredibly creative and artistic. He loved drawing, but his heart was in music, and he was noticeably gifted. He had begun writing and producing his own music, as well as writing professional reviews for other artists. Through the years, Austin gained a lot of inspiration from his favorite artist, Juice WRLD. Austin also enjoyed all sports, especially basketball; he was a big fan of the Golden State Warriors and also enjoyed cheering for Paul George and Steph Curry.

More than anything, Austin loved his family! They’d often play video games, go fishing, and go to races. Austin really enjoyed going to sprint car races and supporting the team that the Whitman family business sponsored, (Rob Caho #78; Caho Motor Sports). Austin was loved by many and was a friend to anyone who crossed his path. He will be missed beyond measure!

Those left to carry on Austin’s legacy of love are his parents, Joann & Brad Whitman, Bryan Casto Sr.; grandparents, Mike & Michelle Reed, Lisa & Terry Logan; siblings, Eli Whitman, Bryan Casto, Hayleigh Casto, Morgan Casto, additional siblings, Alyssa, Jacob, Mackenzie, Jacqueline; aunts & uncles, Joyce Ray, David Forsha, Dean (Ashley) Forsha, Christine Reed (JT Sterrett), Michael Reed, Jacqueline Hawkenson, Andrea Whitman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Austin was preceded in death by his grandma, Pamela Pyle “GG”; great grandparents, Charlotte & Joe Coonce; and beloved dog, Antman.

A funeral service celebrating Austin’s life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N.
