Jerry L. “Bug” Pittman

Jerry L. “Bug” Pittman, 63, of Logansport, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Eskenazi Health Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born October 6, 1960, in Louisville, Kentucky to Carl J. and Mary L. (Elliott) Pittman. Jerry retired from Mid-America Beverage in Kokomo with 25 years’ service. He loved to write music and hang out with family and friends.

Jerry’s surviving family include his seven siblings, Francis Pittman of Indianapolis; Bill Pittman of Cleveland, TN; Harold Pittman, Allen Pittman, and Carla Pittman of Kokomo; Mike Pittman of Logansport and Ferna Pittman of Nevada. He is also survived by a longtime friend and companion, Teresa Pittman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Lou Pittman and sister-in-law Lisa Pittman.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Sister Vickie Jackson will officiate services. Terry Lee Workman

Terry Lee Workman, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024, in Kokomo, Indiana, at the age of 68. Born on July 17, 1955, in Williamson, WV, to Silas "Jack" Workman Jr. and Fannie "Evaline" Workman, Terry's life was a testament to the values of family, hard work, and community.

A proud graduate of Haworth High School's class of 1973, Terry went on to dedicate many years of service to Continental Steel Mill and later Newlon Metals, where he retired in August 2017. His work ethic and commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry.

Terry was a man of many interests and talents. He was known for his love of working on cars, a passion he shared with his best friend, Lyle Branum. Mornings were often spent in the company of his best friend, Joe Roe, over a cup of coffee, sharing stories and laughter. An avid fisherman, Terry cherished the time spent with his grandchildren by the water, teaching them the patience and skill of the sport. He also enjoyed visiting his son in Tennessee, where they created lasting memories together.

In his younger years, Terry coached baseball, sharing his love of the game with the youth in his community. He was also an enthusiastic bowler, often found at the lanes with his family, enjoying the friendly competition and camaraderie.

Terry's generosity knew no bounds. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, and his selfless nature made him a pillar in the lives of those around him. His ability to fix anything that was broken extended beyond the mechanical; he had a knack for mending hearts with his kindness and warmth.

He is survived by his loving brothers, Doug Workman (Monica), Jack Workman (Melodye), and Randy Workman (Jenifer), and his devoted sisters, Debbie Harris, Teresa Workman, Wanda McKillip, and Mary Braucher (Jeff). Terry also leaves behind Jeremy Hancock, whom he thought of as a son, and Jeremy's three children, Chylynn, Jeremiah, and Owen Hancock, who will miss their grandfather's guiding presence. His many loving nieces and nephews will carry forward the lessons of generosity and love that he instilled in them.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Silas "Jack" Workman Jr. and Fannie "Evaline" Workman, and his brother-in-law, Mark McKillip. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire and influence the lives of his family and friends.

As we bid farewell to Terry Lee Workman, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that brought joy and happiness to those around him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and selflessness will continue to resonate within the community he loved so dearly. Terry's memory will be cherished and honored by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Dannie D. Scott

Dannie D. Scott, a cherished member of the Kokomo community, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024, at the age of 68. Born in Frankfort, IN on December 2, 1955, to Shirley Hernly and the late Dayne Scott, Dannie was a beacon of adventure and kindness, whose passion for life touched many.

Family was the cornerstone of Dannie's life. He is survived by his loving mother, Shirley Hernly, and is preceded in death by his father, Dayne Scott. Dannie's legacy lives on through his children, Dannie (Ruth Ann) Scott, Debra (Shawn) Clifford, Christin (William) Cannon and Debra (Shawn) Clifford; his son, Danny (Ruth Ann) Scott; his sister, Barbara (Larry) Smith; his brothers, Rick and Bill Scott; and his seven adored grandchildren. Each family member carries with them the spirit of Dannie's love and the memories of his unwavering support.

Dannie's adventurous soul found joy in the roar of a motorcycle and the camaraderie of fellow riders. As a dedicated member of the Iron Pigs Motorcycle Club, he shared countless miles and smiles with his fellow members, who will miss him greatly. His love for riding was matched by his passion for gun collecting, a hobby that allowed him to connect with others who shared his interests.

Those who knew Dannie will remember him as a man of many attributes: adventurous, loving, and friendly. He was the kind of person who could light up a room with his presence and make a lasting impression with his warm smile and generous spirit. Dannie's approach to life was to embrace each day with enthusiasm and to seek out the beauty in the world around him.

As we bid farewell to Dannie D. Scott, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. His adventurous spirit will forever inspire us to explore, his loving nature will continue to warm our hearts, and his friendly demeanor will remind us of the power of human connection. Dannie's journey through life was one of joy, laughter, and an abundance of love—a journey that will continue to guide and comfort us in the days to come.

Kathleen Alley

Kathleen Alley, age 72, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. She was born June 26, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, to Thomas and Juanita (Ameigh) Powell. She graduated from Kokomo High School. She was a talented oil painter, and enjoyed sewing, doing puzzles, and listening to Elvis.

She is survived by her mother, Juanita Powell; her husband, Walter Alley; her brother, Gary (Eunice) Powell; her daughters, Rebecca (Johnny) Gordon, and Brandy (Jason) Hendrix; her son, Mike(Leanna) Harris; her grandchildren, Kelsey Gordon, Sarah Gordon, Tristan Hoeebee, and Savannah (Charles) Smith Ball; and her great-grandchildren, Lakelan, Ashton, Lucian and Zavayah.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Powell; and her brothers, Joseph Powell and George Powell.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.

Howard "JR" Eugene Buchanan Jr.

Howard "JR" Eugene Buchanan Jr., age 46, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his residence. He was born on June 27, 1978, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, to the Howard Eugene Buchanan Sr. and the late Bernada Armstrong. JR married Ashley (Harrington) Buchanan on May 23, 2016, and she survives.

JR was a homemaker and took care of his wife and children. He enjoyed spending time with children and playing XBOX. JR was a "Jack-of-all-trades" and was very talented when it came to fixing things as well as knowledgeable in plumbing, electrical, car repairs, etc. He was a man's man. He also loved to help others in need.

JR is survived by his wife, Ashley; 10 children, Christian Buchanan, Vanessa (Juan) Acosta, Peyton (Lindsey) Harrington, Joshua Gibson, Korbin Gibson, Rydder Buchanan, Greyson Buchanan, Zaythyn Buchanan, Brixton Buchanan, and Remington Buchanan; many grandchildren; many siblings; parents-in-law, Darin Harrington and Ava (Eldon) Harrington; and brother-in-law, Darin Harrington II.

Preceded in death is his son, Keeghan Buchanan; and mother, Bernada Armstrong.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
