Mark Allen Bourff

Mark Allen Bourff passed away peacefully Saturday evening, July 13, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Born November 9, 1938, to Ceotice and Edgbert Bourff, he was the youngest of six children and is survived by one sister, Regina (Dolly) Janusz. He married Geraldine May “Jerri” Goodnight on March 21, 1956, and together they raised five children. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2020.

Mark Bourff lived in Kokomo and later in Russiaville. A faith-filled member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, employed and recognized for excellence by the Chrysler Corporation, an organizer of the memorial to the Russiaville School Building, and an active supporter of the Democratic Party, he modeled for his family and friends the essence of citizenship and the rewards of hard work.

He and Jerri enjoyed traveling with family and friends and celebrating the many milestones and holidays, especially Christmas, that composed their 64 years of marriage. He was an amateur woodworker, carpenter, grandfather clock maker, mechanic, model train enthusiast and a sometimes-raucous fan of the Kokomo Wildcats, Notre Dame Football, IU Basketball, Johnny Cash, and the Statler Brothers.

He directed his most ardent enthusiasm to the support of his politician wife, never too busy to “pound the pavement” for her election or related pursuits. His devotion to Jerri extended beyond her life, as he could be frequently seen, almost daily, in the Russiaville Cemetery, tending to her gravesite and sharing his thoughts.

Obvious from all the birthday parties, baptisms, cookouts, first communions, graduation parties, weddings, and special events he either hosted or attended, his greatest joy and source of pride was family. He is survived by his five children: Allen Bourff (Melissa), Annette Milam, Julie Dover (Harry), Eric Bourff (Jude), and Mark Vaughn Bourff; his 11 grandchildren: Joseph Milam (Beth), Nicholas Bourff (Erin), Phillip Milam (Meghan), Nathaniel Bourff (Staci), Meredith Dover (Chris, partner), Leah Warrington (Tommy), Katie Dover (Jake, fiancé), McCaela Bourff, Tabitha Bourff, Elijah Bourff and Jordan Bourff; his 8.9 great grandchildren: Clive Bourff, Elliot Milam, Hazel Bourff, Lillian Bourff, Emily Bourff, Grant Milam, Ryder Warrington, Sophie Bourff and Wyatt Warrington (August Expectation).

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son-in-law, Jeffrey Milam.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday July 19, 2024, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN 46979. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Saturday July 20, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington St., Kokomo, IN 46901. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. One of Mark’s most satisfying efforts was his work in the early 2000s with the renovation of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1204 N. Armstrong St, Kokomo, Indiana. Messages of condolence may be made online at www.stoutandson.com.
