Community names King and Queen of annual ball
Love was in the air at Silver Birch of Kokomo on Feb. 13, and the residents turned out for the annual Sweethearts Ball at the facility.
The highlight of the evening, as it is every year, was the crowning of the Sweethearts Ball King and Queen. This year, Thurman Shelton was awarded the title of King, and he warmly welcomed the Queen of the ball, Bobbi Heathscott.
The dining room at Silver Birch was festooned with Valentine-themed décor, including heart of red, white, and pink, connected by chains of similar hues.
Music filled the room, thanks to DJ Tic Toc, and the residents delighted to a special repast of shrimp cocktail. And to make the evening more memorable, volunteers handed out fresh carnations in Valentine colors.
The Sweethearts Ball is just one of dozens of special events held at Silver Birch of Kokomo throughout the year, and the public is always welcome to attend and share in the joy and celebration.
