The Western Lady Panthers swam into Kokomo on Nov. 19 and came out with a 101-79 win, marking the start of the season for both teams.
Autumn Harsh set the pace for the Lady Panthers, winning the 100M breaststroke and capturing the 400M freestyle relay with teammates Annalise Dixon, Cami Maddox, and Emily Scott.
The Lady Katfish featured a quadruple winner in Morgan Rakestraw. She took first in the 200M individual medley and the 100M butterfly. She also was on the winning 200M medley relay with Maddie Armstrong, Milla Hawkins, and Aubrey Simmons. Her fourth win came as part of the 200M freestyle relay with Hawkins, Bethany Burns, and Alyssa Frederick.
Frederick won the 200M freestyle and the 500M freestyle. Hawkins added a win in the 100M freestyle. Simmons also found success in the 50M freestyle and the 100M backstroke.
In the diving competition, it was all about Western’s Allena Harmon, who handily captured the top spot.
Both teams return to the pool on Nov. 25, with Western hosting Oak Hill and Kokomo traveling to North Manchester.
