Trunk or treat, monster truck, petting zoo make for exciting celebration

Halloween in Kokomo got an upgrade last weekend when Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union held its annual Halloween celebration on Oct. 19 at its home office along Southway Boulevard.

It was a rare event where the candy took a back seat to a mind-blowing array of activities. There were horse and pony rides and a petting zoo, courtesy of Narrow Gate Horse Ranch and Wrangler and Friends.

And for the truly brave, many costumed kids and their parents jumped into the bed of a monster truck for a hair-raising, donut-filled rampage through the parking lot.

Of course, the famous Sanderson Sisters were in attendance, monitoring the Solidarity games tent, and there was an inflatable bounce houses and an obstacle course to enjoy.

The Kokomo Howard County Public Library also got into the Halloween spirit by putting on a spooky session of its popular Drums Alive exercise program.
