After just under five years of service, Coordinated Assistance Ministries (CAM) Executive Director Dennine J. Smith will conclude her tenure at the helm of CAM on September 30, 2024.

Melanie Waggoner, CAM's Day Shelter manager, will serve as the Interim Executive Director of the ministry. Melanie has been a member of CAM's staff for over three years and prior to her work at CAM was an educator for over 20 years.

"We have established a search committee comprised of community leaders with a variety of expertise and who understand CAM's mission," said board president Pastor William Gary. "We are prayerful that the right person for this ministry opportunity is out there."

Reflecting on her time at CAM, Dennine said, "I am certain that I completed the assignment that God gave me to do during my time in this role, so I am ending this chapter with gratitude and joy." She goes on to say, "Our team accomplished so many things together! The many churches, businesses, community organizations and individuals who were supportive of the purchase of our new building, transportation service needs, hygiene kits, emergency food pantry, and the other projects through the years, played such an important role in our success. I offer my most sincere thanks for our community's support and partnership!"

Dennine will be relocating with her husband, Rev. Dr. William J. Smith to Atlanta, Georgia where he will serve as senior pastor of Wheat Street Baptist Church.
