The Howard County Historical Society invites you to come enjoy Mr. Kingston’s Historic Car Show on the lawn of the Seiberling Mansion June 9 from 4-8 p.m. and June 10 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Challenge and expand your automotive knowledge and appreciation. Compare and contrast historic cars. Earn your racing license and race on the derby track! Admission to the Seiberling Mansion will be free both days and refreshments will be for sale.
There will be two opportunities to win prizes on the derby track on both Friday and Saturday. Bring your derby car or use one of our derby cars to race. Try your hand at identifying some curious automotive objects that our curators have brought out from the Historical Society’s collection.
Get your picture taken with “Mr. and Mrs. Kingston.” Discover what famous VIP from the car industry enjoyed dinner at the Seiberling in the 1920s. Watch Mayor Tyler Moore race derby cars against local hero Tom Tolen at noon on Saturday. Vote for your favorite historic car.
This event is being generously sponsored by Solidarity Federal Credit Union, Button Motors, Erik’s Chevrolet, Huston Electric, Syndicate Sales, Second Missionary Baptist Church, and Graves Sheet Metal, with support from the Severns Family Fund, King Oil, Hometown Ice Cream, and Martin Wrecker Service.
