The Greentown Historical Society (GHS) is happy to participate in this year’s Howard County 4H Fair, and it invites the community to take part in what it has to offer.

GHS Fair Parking is located at 532 Uncle Tom Street (New Holland of Greentown). Cost is $5 per car, and all proceeds go to GHS. This is the safest off-site parking, but you will need to cross the railroad track to enter the south side of the fairgrounds. Inform your family and friends about GHS Fair Parking.

GHS operates the Armfield-Moyer Round Barn, and there are some featured activities and displays in store for visitors this year. Drop in to experience the Middlesworth Mowers story. Did you know Middlesworth Mowers were manufactured in Greentown during the 1980’s? The company is featured at the barn with pictures and a timeline, and several mowers will be on display.

While you’re in the barn, check out the Howard County basketball team photos, each featured with the individual school song. Also, show off your skill with a mini-basketball shoot. Two goals are available for the next generation of basketball stars. Of course, there is also a big basketball goal in place to challenge those wanting to shoot three-pointers.

There is also a 100-year-old saddle, owned by Dale Armfield, on display. The saddle has been restored and preserved and is hanging in the barn for all to see.
