'Boeing Boeing' lands in Kokomo Feb. 21-23

Come fly with us! Kokomo Civic Theatre will present the hilarious comedy “Boeing Boeing” on February 21, 22, 23 at Havens Auditorium, IU Kokomo. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

It’s the 1960s, and a swinging American bachelor named Bernard is living in an upscale Paris apartment which he shares with a French housekeeper Berthe, and his three air hostess fiancées – American Gloria, Italian Gabriella, and German Gretchen.

Of course, the three ladies do not know about each other, because their schedules normally bring them to Bernard’s apartment on different days of the week. But when Bernard’s old school friend Robert shows up for a visit just as the ladies’ flight schedules change, things get very complicated. Bernard, Robert, and Berthe struggle to keep the ladies from learning the truth, resulting in a deliriously funny evening at the theatre!

“Boeing Boeing” by French playwright Marc Camoletti premiered in London in 1962 and ran for seven years. It opened on Broadway in 1965. In 2007 the play was revived in London, and it moved to Broadway in 2008, winning Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Play and Best Leading Actor.

Director Steve Hughes has assembled a talented cast of actors to bring this comedy to life, including Angie Bowman as Berthe, Tabitha Farkas as Gabriella, Sarah Ferenc as Gloria, Jackae Johnson as Gretchen, Colburn Lambert as Bernard, and Ryan Richards as Robert.

“Boeing Boeing” is made possible, in part, by NIPSCO, the Howard County Commissioners, the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation, The Arts Federation, the Indiana Arts Commission, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Ticket prices are $18 for adults, $16 for senior citizens, $14 for students through college, and $12 for children 12 and under.
