Bona Vista’s annual Christmas celebration and talent show is easily the best-kept secret of the holidays in Kokomo. Each year, the clients and staff put on an impressive array of skits and singing that produce belly laughs and just the right amount of seasonal sentimentality.
And each year, the Kokomo Fire Department sends a crew of Hollywood hopefuls, determined to win the talent competition between them and Bona Vista’s staff.
A panel of celebrity judges were entertained and amazed by the variety of performances, but there was one that simply was unforgettable. After enjoying a raucous rendition of the “12 Days of Christmas” from the Bona Vista staff, the firefighters flew into the show on a magic carpet, delivering a hilarious re-enactment of the “Whole New World” scene from Disney’s animated classic, “Aladdin.”
The firefighters followed that up with a rendition of “Snoopy vs. the Red Baron,” complete with a dogfight and a stage dive to end the Red Baron’s reign of terror over European skies.
But it is always the talent of the Bona Vista clients that pulls on the heartstrings and brings out the biggest smiles. The 2024 version of the show didn’t disappoint, as the performances prompted the audience to sing along and bounce to the beats.
