This fall, the Howard County Historical Society will once again host the Cemetery Walk, an event exploring the lives and stories of local historical figures buried in Crown Point Cemetery.

The event is being resurrected after a 17-year hiatus. The last Cemetery Walk, hosted in 2007, featured historical figures such as Rev. John Lowe, one of the first preachers in the area, and Elnora Trueblood Gause, founder of an official humane society in Kokomo.

This year’s event will take place Friday, Oct. 4, and Saturday, Oct. 5. Attendees will be led through Crown Point Cemetery as they interact with actors playing various historical figures.

The Historical Society is seeking actors to play in this year’s production as guides and historical figures. Auditions will be held on July 22 and 24 at the Elliott House, 1216 W. Sycamore St. Auditions will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. both nights. Those interested in a role should come prepared with a two-minute monologue of their choosing.
