On Thu., Dec. 19, 2024, at approximately 3:03 p.m., the Howard County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible burglary in progress in the 400 block of North Union Street in Russiaville. Upon arrival, deputies noticed forced entry into the rear of the residence leading into a mud room.
It was learned the suspect never was able to make it into the living area of the house from this room and nothing appeared to be taken.
The suspect is a white male with facial hair who was wearing blue jeans, a dark gray sweatshirt with red lettering, and a dark-colored sock hat.
Photos of the suspect have been shared across various social media platforms. The sheriff’s office thanks people for that as it does lead to more exposure. However, if a name is mentioned, please contact the Sheriff’s Office directly.

KPD searching for robbery suspect
On Tue., Dec. 17, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m. The Kokomo Police Department responded to an armed robbery that occurred near the railroad tracks behind the 400 block of North Apperson Way in Kokomo.
The victim, a 29-year-old female, was walking home after leaving the Storybook Express convenience store located at Apperson Way and Sycamore Street. She described a taller, medium-build, black male with shoulder-length dreads following behind her after leaving the store. The male was further described to be wearing a dark-colored coat with black pants.
The victim crossed Apperson Way as the male continued to follow closer. She began walking near the railroad tracks behind 400 N. Apperson Way in hopes to get home quicker. The suspect approached her with a gun as a struggle ensued. She was struck in the face, thrown to the ground, and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. The male took off running southbound, down the railroad tracks.
Still images of a person of interest were obtained through surveillance video footage. The Kokomo Police Department is asking for assistance with identifying the individual depicted in the photos.
