United Way Serving Howard and Tipton Counties is preparing for the first Community Investment Grant cycle in 2025 by offering informational sessions for nonprofits interested in receiving funding from the organization.
The first session will take place Dec. 18, from 9:30-10 a.m. at the United Way office, 125 N. Buckeye St., Kokomo. A second session will occur on Dec. 20, from 11:30 a.m. until noon at the Tipton County Foundation, 1020 W. Jefferson St., Tipton.
United Way staff will be on hand during these sessions to introduce nonprofits to the new and updated application, which will become available Jan. 1, 2025.
United Way wants nonprofits serving Howard and Tipton counties to know that a letter of intent will need to be submitted between Jan. 1-13, 2025, before the full application process begins. Information on this new step will be covered in the informational sessions.
To apply, visit www.howardandtiptonunitedway.org on or after Jan. 1, 2025, to complete the letter of intent, which will request details about the organization along with a summary of the project seeking funding.
Once the grant application process begins Jan. 13, 2025, another round of informational sessions will be held to aid any nonprofit seeking guidance on the process. Those meetings will take place Jan. 15, 2025, from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the United Way office, 125 N. Buckeye St., Kokomo, and Jan. 17, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at the Tipton County Foundation, 1020 W. Jefferson St., Tipton.
The application window will remain open until Feb. 3, 2025. Grant recipients will be awarded funding in April.
All applicants must understand that United Way seeks to fund programs that best fit its mission "to bring the community together to provide advocacy, service, and giving opportunities to empower all people with health, education, and financial stability."
