Women require freedom. Women are going to the polls in huge numbers in early voting, suggesting they are rejecting the notion that one innocent act of love should result in death, bereavement, grief, infertility or poverty when medical miracles exist to prevent these consequences. Women are in the polling booth alone and need not inform family or friends of their decision in pursuit of independence and freedom.
Women need not deny their faith to be pro-choice and maintain their selfless potential to society. This is why Planned Parenthood Advocates endorsed me.
Frozen Sandlot returns for seventh season
Bridges Outreach and the City of Kokomo are excited to announce that The Frozen Sandlot will be back for its seventh season. The ice-skating rink has become a staple in the community. Prices seem to be rising everywhere, but Bridges and the city are committed to keeping prices the same so that families can have an affordable memory this winter.
The rink will open the Friday after Thanksgiving on November 29. There will be 39 days open to the public during the seven-week skating season.
The Frozen Sandlot website and Facebook page have the schedule for the season. There are several dates available for groups to rent out the rink or a heated suite. In the past, The Frozen Sandlot has hosted schools, family Christmas parties, business groups, and lots of birthday parties.
It also offers season passes and gift packages for a date night or Christmas gift. There are birthday packages that are perfect for winter birthdays. The heated suites make for a great place to host a small or large party.
“We love hosting people from all over Indiana and beyond,” said Travis Taflinger, CEO of Bridges Outreach. “Families have the opportunity to spend time together, get outside and have some fun!”
Last season, more than 7,500 guests joined Bridges at the rink.
It is important to the City of Kokomo and Bridges Outreach to keep prices affordable. Prices will not increase this year. It's still only $7 a ticket. This gives access for the whole day and includes skates. Skaters can even leave and come back without any issues. If a skater brings their own skates, their rate is only $5. This is the same price for spectators. The Frozen Sandlot also serves hot chocolate and keeps the skates in a heated tent.
The City of Kokomo is proud to add more amenities to the stadium for families to build traditions by creating a “Wintertyme Village.” This village will be open most weekends leading up to Christmas and include lights, vendors and numerous seasonal activities.
Taflinger said The Frozen Sandlot is a great way for Bridges to employ current and old students and support the community. Ice skating brings back a lot of great memories for adults in the community, and it is a great experience for their children.
“We love providing this family friendly service to north-central Indiana!” exclaimed Taflinger.
