Young movers and shakers participate in special halftime performance

This is a perfect time to prepare for summer when everyone is eager to jump in the pool and cool off. Starting lessons in winter is beneficial because it helps your child get accustomed to the water and develop essential swimming skills. By the time summer arrives, they will be ready to dive right in. You can register your child today, either in person at the Y or online: https://operations.daxko.com/Online/5014/ProgramsV2/Home.mvc
The future is here, and it has some moves.
The Kokomo High School Dance Team opened the door to potential future members during the holiday season. It held a Christmas Dance Clinic for younger students and gave them the opportunity to perform on the school's biggest stage -- halftime at the varsity boys' basketball game on Dec. 21.
The dance team opened up registrations at the end of November and allowed kids in kindergarten through fifth grade to participate.
The clinic was conducted by the dance team coaches and members of both the high school and middle school teams.
Each of the kids received a Santa hat to wear during the performance, along with free admission to the game.
The participants gathered from noon until 3 p.m. on the day of the game and learned a special routine. Just a few hours later, the young dancers put their newly acquired skills on display during the halftime show of the Kokomo/Carmel varsity boys' basketball game.
Of course, the result was greatly entertaining, as the young movers and shakers had the crowd cheering and clapping, as the holiday spirit filled Memorial Gymnasium.
