Athes C. “AC” Hill Jr.
Athes C. “AC” Hill Jr., 88, of Kokomo, passed away on March 16, 2025, at his home. He was born September 20, 1936, in Sweetwater, TN, son of the late Athes and Mertie (Weaver) Hill. On February 8, 1980, AC married Janet Sue Cass, and she survives.
AC was a wire drawer at Continental Steel for 28 years. He owned and operated Hill’s Bait Shop. He was employed by Leslie Fisher Enterprise as well. AC was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating. He was a fantastic woodworker and was very handy; there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He was a member of In His Image Church and attended Radiant Life.
Along with his wife, Janet, he is survived by: his sisters Ruthanne (Dan) Miller and Mary Lou (Jay) Justice; daughter Candy (Jerry Gain) Hill; son Don (Deana) Hill; stepsons Travis (Chrystal) Kellett and Scott (Sherry) Kellett; sister-in-law Susan Hill; grandchildren Jeremy Driver, Derick Driver, Summer Driver, Lyndsay (Nathan) Newburn, Kelcey Kellett, Nicole Chapman, and Shawna (Sam) Gideon; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
AC was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eva Williams, and brothers Eldon Hill and Arley Hill.
A funeral service to celebrate AC’s life will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home-Jefferson Street Chapel, 414 W. Jefferson Street, Kokomo. Sharon Irene Sharp
Sharon Irene Sharp, 84, of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born on July 2, 1940, in Kokomo, the daughter of Eugene H. and Ida I. (Lazabe) Cass. On November 23, 1983, in Clarksville, Tennessee, she married Jefferson Ira Sharp, and he survives.
Sharon retired in 2003 from Gerber Globe Valve – Delphi and previously worked as a metal shop observer for Continental Steel. She was known by her co-workers as “Tweety Bird.” Sharon enjoyed fishing and camping. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. Sharon volunteered in the kitchen for the Rescue Mission. She was a member of Judson Road Christian Church.
Along with her husband of 41 years, Jefferson Sharp, she is survived by: her children Barb Brovont, Cindy (Bob) Cardwell, and John (Liz) Reed; stepchildren Teresa (Jeff) Wohlford, Jeffery D. (Jamie) Sharp, Lori (Roy) Vandergriff, Marty (John) Johnson, Bridgett (Tom) Siter, Maggie (Andy) Edgington, and Amy (Keith) Robbins; grandchildren Sherry Hughes, Melissa “Lisa” Hicks, Shannon Spencer, Danelle Horoho, Ashley Tom, Matthew Reed, Julissa Reed, Tommy Francis, Crstal Busch, Dusty Daniels, and Desirea Roberts; brother Donald (Diane) Cass; and many great-grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Ida Cass; children James Francis, Timmy, Darlene, and Luanne; and grandchildren Holly Jeffries and Serinity Hicks.
A memorial service celebration Sharon’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., with Pastor Jason Double officiating. Glenna Rae Brown
Glenna Rae Brown, age 99, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025. She was born July 29, 1925, to the late Robert and Esther Cunningham
She is survived by her son Richard W. Brown as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Glenna is preceded in death by her husband Norris Brown and her daughter Marilynn (Brown) Crum.

James Henry Bauder
James Henry Bauder, 69, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away March 16, 2025. He was born on June 16, 1955, in Las Vegas, Nevada, the son of John F. and Ruth (Schanbacher) Bauder. He married Brenda (Hayes) Bauder, who survives. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1975-1979. James loved model cars, spending time with his grandchildren, smoking cigars with neighbors, photography, and sitting out in the fresh sunshine. He also enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Zena.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 14 years Brenda, children Rachel (Robert Humble) Moore, Tiffany (Jeremy) Ebert, and Jamie Bauder, grandchildren Isabell Bauder, Deborah Moore, Kaylie Ebert, Jeremy Ebert Jr., Cadance Ebert, Bentley Ebert, Railynne Moore, and Noah Bauder, and sister Elaine Bauder.
James was preceded in death by his parents, brother Timothy Bauder, and aunt Helen (Bob) Akst.

J. David Nall
J. David Nall of Kokomo, IN, beloved husband of Lois V. (Tooley) Nall who predeceased him, died at Primrose of Anderson on Friday, March 14, 2025. He was a member of the Crossroads Community Church.
David was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 21, 1933, the son of Darl Otto Nall and Adeline Mart Nall. At the age of four, he and his mother moved to the farm owned by his grandmother Nina Shugart, Mart Mills, outside Marion, IN. As a youth, David was very active with the Boy Scouts, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Fairmount High School and was a graduate of Wabash College, receiving an AB degree in Speech.
During his Wabash years he was an officer of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and a member of Blue Key, Sphinx Club, and Scarlet Masque. He was a feature writer for the The Bachelor and a cartoonist for the college magazine Suave. He was a member of the cheerleading squad and was captain in his senior year. While at Wabash he appeared in leading roles in Light up the Sky, Mr. Roberts, and as Stoch in Stalag 17, for which he received the college Leading Actor Role award.
Following graduation, he spent two years with the U.S. Army Counter-Intelligence Corps at 6th Army Headquarters in San Francisco, CA.
In 1958 he joined the Aetna Life & Casualty insurance company. He rose rapidly through a series of management positions and was appointed General Agent in Oakbrook, IL, in 1966. In 1968, he became General Agent in Chicago - the company's leading Chicago career agent building operation - where the organization not only developed a number of agents to Million Dollar Round Table status but also recruited and trained eight managerial candidates.
In 1977, he was appointed General Agent in Aetna's career agency in San Jose, CA. and in 1978, he became the General Agent for Aetna for the northern half of California, with responsibilities devoted to the development of career agents. During this period, his agency led the company in production from new agents. He was the recipient of the General Agents & Managers Association's National Management Award for every year since 1976 during his General Agency tours.
In 1981, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Producer Development and Marketing Training, of the Personal Financial Security Division in Aetna's Hartford, CT, home office. In 1989, he was named Vice President, Marketing with Aetna International, Inc. where he was responsible for supporting the company's international operations in 14 nations with distribution issues related primarily to the training and development of the sales force, as well as general marketing and sales activities.
In 1994, after 36 years with the company, Dave retired. However, his work on behalf of the international life insurance industry continued through his activities as an independent consultant in a number of nations around the world until 2003.
Dave's love of performing on stage stretches from high school and college to the present. He was involved in the community theater productions, many with the great love of his life, his wife, who he met and married in 1972 shortly after their performance in the production LUV for which they each received Best Actor awards.
His rich life was filled with humor, happiness, and joy, by and because of all who knew him and is expressed by the inscription on his grave marker: "Asbestos Gelos" ("Unquenchable Laughter" from the Iliad), the "Laughter of the Gods."
He will be sorely missed by the children of their blended family: daughters Amy C. Tucek and husband Charlie, Lori E. Berry, P. McLean Nall and wife Ling, John P. Nall and wife Kaye, Gary B. Sullivan and wife Char, and by his sister Mary (Nall) Cobb Herlihy and husband Dennis. He will also be missed by his nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Reverend David Welsh will officiate. Interment will follow at the Crown Point Cemetery in Kokomo.

Michael “Mike” Dewayne Campbell
Michael “Mike” Dewayne Campbell, 66, of Kokomo, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 20, 1958, in Kokomo, the son of Albert Earl and Oleta Marie (Jarrett) Campbell.
Mike graduated from Kokomo High School in 1976. He worked as a truck driver for over 40 years and previously worked for Wabash National. Mike enjoyed watching all kinds of racing, including drag, funny car, and NASCAR. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent his time hunting, fishing, or riding his Harley. Mike had a 5th degree black belt in Martial Arts and taught it for over 40 years. He was a member of the NRA.
Mike is survived by his children Chris Campbell and Nick (Sara) Campbell, grandchildren Emily (Jeremy) Roberts, Alex (Faith Montgomery) Campbell, and Max Campbell, great-grandchildren Mearl Roberts and Virginia Roberts, brother Tim (Sandra) Campbell, best friend Joe Hough, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Along with his parents Albert & Oleta Campbell, Mike was preceded in death by his cousins Mark Jarrett and Tony Jarrett.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Jerry Wooldridge Community Center, 3885 300 S, Kokomo. Jane Louise Rayl
Jane Louise Rayl, 74, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 15, 2025. She was born on June 25, 1950, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Milo E. and Alice (Wilson) Thomas. On April 10, 1971, Jane married Roger K. Rayl in New London, Indiana. Together, they built a life centered around love and family.
A proud graduate of Western High School’s Class of 1968, Jane pursued her passion for healthcare by earning a degree in Medical and Dental Assisting from Indiana Business College in 1969. She dedicated over three decades to Community Howard Regional Health as a switchboard operator.
Jane’s faith was an essential part of her life, and she was a member of Chapel Hill Christian Church, where her kindness and devotion was evident. She found joy in simple pleasures: reading a good book and soaking up the sunshine at the park. She loved browsing recipe books, cooking family favorites, and loving all her grandkids. Known for her quiet demeanor, sweet smile, and kindness to others, she was a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her. She will be missed so much.
Along with her husband Roger, Jane is also survived by her daughters Wendi (Darrell) Campbell, Julie (Greg) McCauley, and Suzanne (Gregg) Leisure, siblings Pat (Ed) Rhea and Richard (Lonna) Thomas, grandchildren Maia Campbell, Lexi Adams, Hanna Adams, Evan Leisure, Marlee Campbell, Shay Adams, Jacey Leisure, and Chase Guy, along with many beloved extended family members and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and sister Janet Baxter.
