Tony Ray Gipson

Tony Ray Gipson, 70, of Kempton, passed away at home with his family by his side on the morning of Friday, January 3, 2025. Tony was born in Tipton on April 9, 1954, to Johnnie & Verda (Raines) Gipson. He married Connie Park on April 23, 1973, and they celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Tony worked at Woods Wire in Carmel for several years before starting at A. H. Furnico in Indianapolis, working as the warehouse supervisor. Tony and Connie attended Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Cliff Kelley. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, visiting Tennessee, being with his family, and talking! He could talk to anyone, never having met a stranger.

Survivors besides his wife Connie include: one daughter, Tracey Herron, and husband Josh of Tipton; two grandchildren, Riley and Gabrielle Herron; and one great-grandchild, Raven Herron.

Tony was preceded in death by: a daughter, Rhonda Gipson; his parents; his siblings Robbie, Cathey, and Stanley; and a grandson, Konner Kakasuleff.

Funeral services for Tony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Hunt presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. June Ann King

June Ann King, 90, of Greentown, was welcomed into heavens gates after passing away at home on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. She was born on June 10, 1934, in Greentown, the daughter of Glenn and Dorothy (Moredock) Riley. On December 24, 1952, she married Roy King in Greentown, and he survives.

June Ann graduated from Eastern High School in 1952. She worked as a bank teller, co-owned R & J Auto Sales in Madison, Florida, and was a secretary and pianist at Community Bible Church and Southview Assembly of God. Her last job was helping at Briget’s Hair Classics into her 90s. June’s favorite hobbies included cooking, sewing, antiquing, gardening, and being outdoors. She loved music, especially playing the piano at home. June Ann and Roy made multiple trips to Haiti doing missionary work during their time in the ministry.

Along with her husband, Roy King, of 72 years, June is survived by her children, Brian (Debbie) King, Cheryl (Brent) Marner, Matthew (Gina) King, and Jeremy (Summer) King; grandchildren, Holly (Chris) Collins, Colin Marner, Brean King, Mason King, Carson King, and Grayson King; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Collins, and Camille Collins.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Dorothy Riley; daughter, Cynthia King; and brother, Jim Riley.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Sophia Seagrave for the care and friendship she gave June Ann. They would also like to thank Paradigm Health and other caregivers that assisted in her journey.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Christian Life Fellowship, 1009 Holiday Drive, Greentown, with Pastor Gary Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday, at the church.
