Anna Mae England

Anna Mae England, 94, of Kokomo, passed away on December 6, 2024, at her home. She was born on May 2, 1930, in Tazewell, TN, the daughter of Silas and Louester (Gragg) Williams. On May 15, 1950, she married Willie England, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1988.

Anna was a cook at Taylor High School for over 25 years. She was a member of the Macedonia Christian Church. Anna enjoyed cooking, sewing, and Christmas cookie parties. She loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren.

Anna is survived by her children Michael “Mike” (Jen) England, Tim England, Ron (Jennifer) England, and Vicki England; sister, Ruth Harvey; sister-in-law, Roberta England; daughter-in-law, Lisa Ricks; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Willie, Anna was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald Silas England; three brothers; one sister, and a granddaughter.

The family would like to send out a special thank you to Kelly, Maddie, and Marti at Guardian Angel Hospice, and Tristan at Elara Caring for the wonderful care they gave to Anna.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville with Pastor Rick Keck officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Kokomo. Friends may visit the family from 11 a.m. to the time of service on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the funeral home. Evan Cole Wood

Evan Cole Wood, 23, of Monticello, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. He was born in Lafayette, IN, on June 26, 2001, the son of Jerold Wood and Jo (Crider) Wood.

Evan was a 2020 graduate of Carroll High School. He was a big-hearted, generous, and caring young man who had a great sense of humor and a laugh that was so contagious you could not help but laugh with him. Evan may have been seen a reserved man, but he had a unique way to make everyone around him feel welcomed, and he never treated anyone like a stranger.

Evan’s Bloodhounds meant the absolute world to him, and they truly had his whole heart. He was also a very avid outdoorsman, but fishing was by far his passion. He could never be near water without a fishing pole. He also loved kayaking, boating, and hunting.

He is survived by his dad, Jerold Wood; mom, Jo Wood; Bloodhound fur baby, Hannah “Hannah-Banana”; cat, Momma Kitty; siblings, Kyle Leitzman, Phillip Wood, Lacoya Wood, Leahla Wood; grandmothers, Janice Wood, Judy Crider (Jack) Wilson; several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, and a few nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Willie Wood, Elmer Joseph Crider; uncle, Brent Mathews; cousin, Nathan George; and his beloved Bloodhound, Maggie.

Margaret Ruth Freed

Margaret Ruth Freed, 91, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away December 10, 2024. She was born on December 22, 1932, in Scott County, Indiana, the daughter of Paul Revere and Minnie Avis (Patton) Cass. She retired from GM in 1992 after over 30 years of employment.

She loved to crochet and cross-stitch and often framed her creations. Margaret canned the vegetables from her garden and tended to her flowers.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Mary Thurston, Betty Hale; brother, Robert (Sandy) Cass; nephews, James Thurston, Brian (Robin) Cass; nieces, Tracy Cass, Ann (Kip) Bergman.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Leroy Freed; brother, Donald (Waylen) Cass; brothers-in-law, Lee Thurston, Rex Hale.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024, at Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2024, at 3400 S. Mark Allen Yager

Mark Allen Yager, 61, Kokomo, graduated to glory Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 26, 1963, in Kokomo, the beloved son of Sue (Barr) Yager and the late Fred Yager. He was a devoted husband to Elizabeth (Fort), whom he married on January 16, 1981.

A proud graduate of Haworth High School in 1981, Mark furthered his education at Ivy Tech Community College, earning an associate's degree in drafting. He dedicated 30 years of his professional life to Delphi Automotive, where he retired with distinction.

Mark was a man of many passions. He found joy in assembling car models, visiting casinos, and cheering for his favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon. His love for the outdoors was evident in the pride he took in maintaining his yard and his fondness for fishing. Mark cherished time spent with family, often hosting memorable cookouts filled with laughter, thanks to his renowned sense of humor.

Mark is survived by his loving mother, Sue Yager; his devoted wife, Elizabeth; and his children, Michael (Lindsay) Yager and Ashley (Scotty) Overton. Mark was a proud grandfather to Adrianah Everhart, Kaitlyn (Daren) Yager, Jazmyn Yager, and Keegan Overton. He is also survived by his siblings, Brenda (Tom) Hopkins and Chris (Amanda) Yager; his mother-in-law, Barb Fort; sister-in-law, Stacey McCauley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Fred Yager; father-in-law, Gary Fort; his best friend, Ernie Frazier; and his cherished dog, Hunter.

The family would like to give a very special thank you to Guardian Angel Hospice, especially to Angie and Adam for their care and compassion for Mark and his family during his illness.

In keeping with Mark’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. A celebration of life gathering will take place at a later date. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s memory to Guardian Angels Hospice.



Allen Kent Butler

Allen Kent Butler, age 70, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Kokomo Healthcare Center. He was born on January 10, 1954, in Kokomo to the late Noel Butler and Katie (McFarland) Butler, who survives. Allen married Becky (Newcom) Butler in March 1974, and she preceded him in death on February 6, 2014.

Allen retired from Chrysler after 30 years of employment. He was a member of UAW Local 685. Allen enjoyed listening to rock music, collecting albums, sports trading cards and DVDs, watching NASCAR and wrestling, playing pool, and going out to eat. He loved his grandchildren, as they are his pride and joy. He also loved his dog, Princess.

Allen is survived by two children, Heather Butler and Travis (Edana) Butler; mother, Katie Butler; sister, Marsha (Ronnie) Ridenour; and six grandchildren, Amanda Delon, Brenden Cage, Kayden Cook, Traiden Butler, Jayden Butler, and Bentley Butler.

Preceded in death is his loving wife of 40 years, Becky; his father, Noel Butler; and an infant brother, Matthew Noel Butler.

There will be a time of visitation that will be announced at a later date.
