Fran Tonnette Sutton

Fran Tonnette Sutton, 78, of Walton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 1:04 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born May 8, 1946, in Walton, Indiana, to Richard and Doris (Umbarger) Snyder. Fran married James E. Sutton on December 22, 1962, in Walton, Indiana. James preceded her in death October 4, 2020.

Fran retired from Elco Industries in Logansport as a multislide operator with over 29 years’ service. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She truly enjoyed every minute spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family include her two daughters, Tina Price of Walton and Doris Dancy and husband Tom of Rochester. Her grandchildren include Tim Sutton and wife Kaylu of Logansport; Nora Sutton and husband Jaleel of West Lafayette; Samira Sutton of Logansport; Monica Hipsher of Logansport; and Nolan Wilkinson and wife Anna of Walton. Surviving great grandchildren include, Alicia, Lacey, Taye and Tamia Sutton; Jory Al-Turki; Clayton, Colton and Chandler Cripe; and Alexis, Ameira Hipsher and Andrew Barrett. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James, brother, Richard and sister Connie.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Palmer officiating. Fran will be laid to rest next to her husband James in Ever Rest Memorial Park in Logansport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.



Kurt Allen Dove

Kurt Allen Dove, 77, of Kokomo, passed away after several months of battling stroke complications. He was born January 25, 1947, in Tipton, Indiana, to Jean C. Dove and Grace M. Dove (Johnson).

Kurt is survived by his two daughters Camille Anne Bowser (and husband Terry Bowser) of Peterborough, Ontario, and Natalie Lyn Dove (and partner James Kincaid) of Belleville, Michigan, along with four grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Kurt is also survived by his special friend and former wife, Cindy Dove of Kokomo, and many other close friends who made his recent years memorable. One brother, Kent Dove, and his parents preceded him in death.

Kurt spent his early working years at Nixon newspapers as a writer but then moved into the car business as a salesperson and later a dealership owner before his retirement. In terms of hobbies, Kurt enjoyed fishing and watching Chicago Cubs baseball.

The family would like to thank Dr. Melanie Bozard, Dr. Marley Griffin, and the staffs of Ascension St. Vincent Hospital and Waterford Place Health Campus for their care of Kurt. Per Kurt’s request, there will be no funeral services or visitation.

Kim Meagan Young

Kim Meagan Young, 52, Kempton, passed away at 1:28 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Community Regional Health. She was born in Okinawa, Japan, on March 12, 1972, the daughter of James Calvin and Linda (Cook) McIver. In Kokomo on September 29, 1990, she married Darrell “Shawn” Young, and he survives.

Kim attended Clearwater High School and IUK. She was a Pharmaceutical Tech for CVS Corporation for 10 years before becoming a manager at Dollar General. She loved going to the beach, her dogs, her family, and was a coffee connoisseur. She was a deeply caring, loving individual with a beautiful heart.

Along with her husband Shawn, Kim is survived by her children, Kayla Young, Zoe Young, and Graci Young; mother, Linda (Bill) Cook; and brother, James McIver Jr.

She was preceded in death by her father, James McIver Sr. and grandmother, Angie Sayward.

There will be no formal services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Stout & Son Funeral Home- Russiaville Chapel has been entrusted with cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to Stout & Son Funeral Home to help assist the family with final expenses.
