Livie Jean (Perrin) Arnett

Livie Jean (Perrin) Arnett, age 92, of Tipton, passed away at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 2, 1932, to her parents, Luther B. & Florida B. (Harpe) Perrin. Livie married James Porter on December 27, 1952. They spent 51 wonderful years together before he passed away on September 30, 2004.

Livie was a 1949 graduate of Tipton High School. She worked for Firestone in Tipton before she and her husband decided to start their family. Livie was a dedicated wife and mother and stayed very busy through the years taking care of her six children. As much as she enjoyed being a mother, being a grandmother brought her even more joy. Livie was incredibly proud of all the kids. She beamed with pride when she spoke about each of them. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Tipton; her faith was incredibly important to her.

Livie was very genuine and unique; always kept her family on their toes. She was innocently funny and effortlessly kept everyone laughing with her witty sarcasm. She loved to go shopping, watch soap operas during the day, and thoroughly enjoyed rooting for the Colts and Pacers. Livie also joked all the time but nevertheless, enjoyed watching “her guy,” which was Patrick Mahomes, of the Kansas City Chiefs. Livie will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially her many loved ones who adored her.

Those left to carry on Livie’s legacy of love are her children, Tony Arnett, Debbie Emberton, Norma Horlacher (Ray), Misty Robinson (Lance); grandchildren, Shawn Emberton (Tabitha), Jason Emberton, Ashley Hughes (Paul Linback), Brittney Adamson (Danny), Cierra Allan (Tristan), Brayden Robinson, Allston Robinson, Deana Moorhouse (Scott), Jamey Off (Lametra), Cayce Arnett, Alyxandra Arnett, Jessyca Arnett; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Lecil Perrin; son-in-law, Ron Asher.

Livie was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Luther & Florida Perrin; husband, James Porter; children, Shelley Off-Asher, Randy Arnett; siblings, Lassie Strong, Lell D. Perrin, Louis Perrin, Lattie Strong, Lex Perrin, Lorena Yates, Leslie Ray, Lester Perrin, and Lonnie Perrin.

A funeral service will be held in honor of Livie on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. In Tipton. Visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Committal will take place at Fairview Cemetery.

Brenda Joan Adkins

Brenda Joan Adkins, 75, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away October 12, 2024. She was born on May 26, 1949, in Lafayette, Indiana, the daughter of Phillip D. DeVault and Geraldine J. (Graham) Lawrence. She married the late Pascal "Doug" Adkins on January 12, 1974. Brenda worked at Delco Plant #5 for 30 years before retiring in 1996. While at Delco she was the Lottery Lady, Euchre Lady, Avon Lady, and was in charge of the funeral fund for her coworkers. She loved selling Avon, playing computer games, and Black Friday shopping.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Brent (Susan) Adkins of Frankfort, Indiana, Chad (Kim) Adkins of Lafayette, Indiana, Jeremy (Sherri) Adkins of Kokomo, Indiana; grandchildren, Hali (Frank) Downs, Kevin Adkins, Josiah Adkins, Anna Adkins, Jaryd Adkins, Jakob Adkins, Matthew Adkins; great-grandchildren, Dayton Harris, Presley Downs and Coleson Downs; step-children, Beverly (Roger) Brahic, Rick Adkins, Patti Adkins.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Doug; brothers, Duane DeVault, Charles DeVault.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Nancy Ellen Henson

Nancy Ellen Henson, age 85, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. She was born to Gerald and Ruth Shuck on June 7, 1939, in Tipton, Indiana. She graduated Prairie High School in 1957, and went on to marry Billy Munroe Henson in April of 1958 and they had four children. She was a member of the Ladies’ Eagles Auxiliary Club for over 30 years. She was a jokester to all, and was ornery, but she loved and was entirely devoted to her family. She enjoyed bowling, motorcycle riding, playing pool and euchre, crocheting, and anything relating to her Native American heritage. Nancy enjoyed traveling with her husband and children, as a military wife, and camping across Europe.

She is survived by her children, Christie L. Cox, William (Deana) Henson, Sandy K. Henson, and Lori Henson; siblings, David (Mary Ann) Shuck, Gerald (Pam) Shuck, Ronnie Shuck, and Deana Sue (Alan) Foutch; as well as 14 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Billy M. Henson; her parents, Gerald and Ruth; her son, Timothy D. Henson; sister-in-law, Judy Shuck; and 3 grandchildren.

There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, October 17, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 18, at 11 a.m., also at the Main Street location. Nancy will be laid to rest at Normandy Cemetery, immediately following the service.



Teresa “Terri” C. Bevington

Teresa “Terri” C. Bevington, 94, of Melbourne, FL, and former resident of Kokomo, IN, until 2018, entered her well-deserved, Heavenly rest on October 10, 2024. Born at home in Batavia, NY, on July 29, 1930, she was the daughter of Michael and Febronia Dyrbala. Terri was the eighth of nine children. On February 12, 1955, Terri married the late John Richard Bevington in Batavia and then moved to Kokomo shortly thereafter. She attended Sacred Heart School as a child then Batavia High School, graduating in 1948, the first sibling in her family to do so. Terri obtained a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University in 1969 followed by a master’s degree in education in 1971. She taught at several schools in Kokomo, but her primary focus was, and always has been, God and her family.

Terri loved the Lord with all her heart and served Him her entire life whether it was as an active member of The Crusaders Sunday School class, creating magnificent costumes and assisting with church plays, or mentoring women. For many years, Terri led a Bible study once a week for the residents of a local nursing home. She was an active member of One Church in Kokomo until she moved to Melbourne, FL. She attended Calvary Chapel until her passing.

Terri loved people and to be around them. She was a wonderful and gracious hostess for many gatherings and never knew a stranger. She dressed impeccably at all times and had an outstanding sense of fashion. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society in both Kokomo and Melbourne. Terri babysat in the 1960s before becoming a teacher, and she loved her “kids” very much. Terri also had a love for all of God’s creatures, great and small. She loved her pets dearly and treated them like family. She would even carry spiders outside, a habit she passed on to her family.

Terri loved to travel whether it was visiting a foreign country, taking a cruise, or embarking on day trips to go shopping. Whether traveling with friends from church or family, she always made many memories and returned with hilarious stories of her adventures. Terri loved the outdoors and working in her yard. Her creativity shined in many areas of her life, and her yard was no exception.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Curtis (Olena) Bevington of Melbourne, FL, Allyson Bevington of Indianapolis, and Amy (Michael) Moss of Kokomo; grandchildren Anastasiya (Stanislav) Trapyline, Erica (Kurtis) Weasner, Ian (Michelle) Moss, Alexander (Ivory) Moss, Andrew Moss, and Isabella Moss; great grandchildren Victoria, James, Myla, and Lawrence Trapyline; Kyler Gray; Cooper, Brahm, and Bellamy Weasner; Eleanor, Lorraine, and James Moss; and Arthur Moss.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 46 years, John Richard; siblings John Dyrbala, Mary Ralston, Joseph Dyrbala, Gladys Babiarz, Edward Dyrbala, Helen Van Buren, Adam Dyrbala, and Frank Dyrbala; and grandsons Casey Lee and Sean Donald Brubaker.

Visitation will take place at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at One Church, 2734 S Washington St, Kokomo, IN 46902 on Friday, October 18, 2024. Marlene Kay Roesener

Marlene Kay Roesener, 81, Kokomo, died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 10, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 26, 1942, to the late Merwin Wayne and Dorothy Mae (Collin) Dunn. What a nice Christmas gift from God. She married Edward J. Roesener on August 8, 1964, at St. John Lutheran Church. They enjoyed 60 happy years together.

Kay graduated from Kokomo High School in 1961, the year Kokomo won the boys basketball State Championship. She then went to Ball State where she graduated with a bachelor’s in education. She later went on to earn her master’s in education from Ball State. Kay taught 3rd grade at Maple Crest Elementary School the year the Palm Sunday tornado ravaged it. She later founded First Presbyterian Little School and operated it for eight years. Kay and her friend Barbara Moss started a monogramming business, “Initially Yours,” in 1976 and did personal monogramming for Meis department store until 1981. Kay then resumed her teaching career at Western Middle School where she taught for 22 years until her retirement in 2004. She loved teaching, loved her students, and they loved her. Kay enjoyed reading, tending to her flowers, oil and watercolor painting, cooking, traveling, being with her family and friends, and sailing on Lake Monroe. She was active in Psi Iota Xi and PEO philanthropic sororities until her Parkinson's disease slowed her down. Kay was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2013 and later with dementia.

Thanks to Dr. Timothy Gatewood, Dr. Joanne Wojcieszek, and her nurses Lora and Carla, and the other medical practitioners who supported us as Kay valiantly refused to give in to Parkinson’s disease. Thanks to Diane, Zeniah, Carol, and Bonnie, from Comfort Keepers for their kind helpfulness. Thanks to Pastor Carl Hingst from Lutheran Church of our Redeemer for guiding us through our spiritual journey, caring, and helping us through this past year. Thanks to Guardian Angel Hospice as they were incredibly helpful in the last month of Kay’s life. We are so thankful for our family and friends who supported us through this long, painful journey.

Kay is survived by her husband, Ed; daughters, Amy Lynn (Paul) Paquette, and Christine Ann (Curtis) Trainer; sister, Brenda Hutto; brothers-in-law, Tom Roesener and Fred Roesener; sister-in-law, Dianne Sokoloski; grandchildren, Lauren Renee Paquette, Aiden Curtis Trainer, and Nolan Edward Trainer; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed's parents, and brothers-in-law Richard Roesener, John Roesener, and Harold Hutto.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Carl Hingst officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Funeral Home. Dewayne Acuff Redwine

Dewayne Acuff Redwine was born on September 4, 1974, in Knoxville, TN, to Jewell and Mildred (Bradon) Redwine. He passed away in Kokomo, IN, aged 50, on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Dewayne leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers: Dan (Diane) Campbell, Jr. (Linda) Campbell and Randal (Lori) Little; his sisters: Connie (Ervin) Price and Shirley (Don) Ulerick; nephews: Brian, Michael and Nathan (Allison) Campbell, Kyle and Wesley Kiehnau and Cory Price; nieces: Melissa and Veronica Campbell, Kristen Kiehnau, Sharee (Greg) Wood, Tonya (David) Wininger and Gracie Coffey; great-nephews: Braxton, Devin, Camron, Matthew and Bryce Campbell, Damien, Kurt and Holden Price, and Cole Wininger; and great-nieces: Ashley Campbell, Kindsey Swartout, Britney (Killian), Alexis and Megan Wininger.

Patricia "Patsy" Ann Leach

Patricia "Patsy" Ann Leach, age 75, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. She was born in Meridian, Mississippi, on December 6, 1948. Patsy then moved to Indiana, where she was raised, and attended Frankfort High School. Patsy worked for the Kokomo Tribune and Frito Lay in Frankfort, Indiana.

Preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruth and Billy Johnson; husband, John Leach; son, David Easterly; and sister, Peggy Coomer.

She is survived her nieces, Melissa Wallace of Frankfort, Cheryl Coomer of Plainfield, and Rebecca (Rashid) Lamarre of Chicago; great-nieces and great-nephews, Casey Coomer, Sylas Cooper, Reece Leverenz, Jaxon Cooper, Emerald Wallace, and Kaya Lamarre; and her lifelong friend, Kandy Johnson.

Izaac James Burger

Izaac James Burger was born on September 14, 2024, at 7:40 p.m. and met the eyes of Jesus at 7:44 p.m. Izaac was born at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He is deeply loved and missed by his parents, Alexis Abbott and Izaiah Burger.

Along with his parents, Izaac will also be sadly missed by his brother, Izaiah Burger Jr.; grandparents, Erica Abbott and April Johnson; aunts and uncles, Nicholas Abbott, Jasmine Burger, Jayda Burger and Aries Johnson; and great-grandmother, Regina Abbott.

Isaac gave a lifetime of love and joy during his short time here on Earth.
