Andrew James Goodnight

Andrew James Goodnight, 54, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born on December 18, 1969, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of James Kenneth and Diana Marie (Kellogg) Goodnight. On September 1, 1995, he married Maryjane Valencia, and she survives.

Andrew graduated from Kokomo High School in 1989. He proudly served as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force and earned the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Andrew retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of working in dental services. He enjoyed friendly competitions, playing board games with his children such as chess, Risk, and Monopoly. Andrew was a very talented artist, creating realistic representations of aircraft and portrait images. He was a history buff to his core and spent much of his time strengthening his knowledge of American military history. Andrew was a member of the American Legion.

Along with his wife, Maryjane Goodnight, Andrew is survived by his mother, Diana Goodnight; children, Corey (Karina) Goodnight, Nia Goodnight, Keagan Goodnight, and Alani Goodnight; brother, Brandon Goodnight; grandparents, Bob & Nancy Airhart; and grandson, Tobias Goodnight.

Andrew was preceded in death by his father, James Goodnight; grandparents, James & Mary Goodnight, Richard & Betty Kellogg; great-grandparents, Buell & May Bennett; uncles, David Goodnight, and Colin Goodnight.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street, Russiaville, IN. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Air Force and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2024, at the funeral home.
