Patricia "Pat" Kay Miller

Patricia "Pat" Kay Miller, age 90, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Five Star Residences of North Woods. Pat was born on March 4, 1934, in Elwood, Indiana, to the late Charles W. Faucett and Deloris M. (Welch) Faucett. She married Clarence Miller on November 3, 1951, in Kokomo. He preceded her in death in 2005.

Pat enjoyed baking, crocheting, camping, and traveling to the Florida Keys during the winter. She loved the beach. Pat loved her dogs Theo, Shelly, and Queenie. Above all, Pat loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Jim (Robin) Miller, Ellen (Jim) Richey, Dodie Richardson, and Darla (Mark) Cade; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Gabe) Tansy, Justin Richardson and Michael, Brandi (Mike) Gibson, Derek Miller, Kylee (Mark) Fisher, Joshua Cade, Renae (Anthony) Ventura, and Peyton (Kristen) Richardson; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Clarence; daughter, Arlene Adair; son-in-law, John Adair; and great-grandson, Landry Fisher.

The family would like to thank the staff of both Five Star Residences of North Woods and Southern Care Hospice.

There will be a time of visitation for Pat on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Ellers Mortuary Main Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo. Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM, also at the mortuary. Rich Leavell will be officiating. Burial will follow to Albright Cemetery.

 



Austin Lee Tooley

Austin Lee Tooley, 37, Kokomo, passed away Wednesday August 7, 2024. He was born June 27, 1987, in Kokomo, the son of Theodore “Ted” Tooley & Pamela “Pam” Rocheford.

Austin was a 2007 graduate of Kokomo High School. He was currently employed with Arby’s. He enjoyed playing video games, going on bike rides, listening to music and podcasts, and watching documentaries on T.V. Austin looked forward to family vacations in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, where he liked to ride jet skis. He loved going to amusement parks such as Cedar Point and riding rides. Austin loved to ride go carts, hang around campfires, and stargaze.

Austin is survived by his mother, Pam (Mike Camp) Rocheford; siblings, Brandon Tooley and Keehan Rocheford; aunts and uncles, Debbie (Tom) White, Wayne (Krista) Bradley, Ken (Deb) Gable, Ron (Mary Beck) Bradley, Carol (Bob) Peterson and Tammie (Harold) Hill, along with several cousins; and grandma, Brenda Ring.

Austin was preceded in death by his father, Theodore “Ted” Tooley; stepfather, Emil “Moe” Rocheford; mamaw & papaw, Ronald and Janice Tooley; grandpa, Wayne Bradley Sr.; and uncle Layne Bradley.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11-2 pm Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo.



John William Bowen

John William Bowen, 78, of Kokomo, went to be with the Lord at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent in Kokomo. He was born in Frankfort, IN, on May 31, 1946, the son of Arvis Elzy Bowen and Mae Ruth (White) Williams. His mother married Carlton Williams who helped raise him. On December 16, 1994, John married Ellen O’vadka Jaqua, and she survives.

John retired from Chrysler where he served as a test driver at ITP #1. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and Indiana National Guard for 20 years until his retirement. John prioritized his relationship with Jesus. He was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Deacon. He was a member of the U.A.W #685, a lifetime member of the VFW of the United States, and a member of the American Legion Post #6 for 35 years. His favorite hobbies were bowling, camping, fishing, and woodworking. He was the best Papaw to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Ellen, John is survived by his children, Erika (James) Baka, Elizabeth (Brice) Sanford; grandchildren, Brant (Jamie) Bowen, Brody Bowen, Matthew Baka, Ashley Baka, Zachary Baka, Breven (Abby) Sanford, Courtney (Brayden) Williams, Preston Sanford; great-grandchildren, Brayden Bass, Joe Bowen, Kaydience Bowen, Piper Sanford; siblings, Larry Mosier, Pam (Donnie) McKinney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, John W. Bowen Jr.; daughter, Joyce Mulkey; grandson, Tony Bass; sisters, Patty Shields, Wilma Best, Bobbi Smith; brothers, Sonny “Carlton Jr.” Williams, Jim Williams, George Williams, and Max Williams.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902. Funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Roberts officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Contributions may be made in John’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
