Karen Louise Hanes

Karen Louise Hanes, 75, Kokomo, passed away at 7:19 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born in Wabash, IN, to the late Elmer E. and Cathrine (Wray) Hanes.

Karen graduated from Mentone High School in 1967 and received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Ball State University. She resided in Kokomo Place. She worked for Carroll Consolidated Schools as an art teacher for 20 years. Karen was a member of The Vine Community Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed making props and backgrounds for her daughter’s prom. She liked to flip houses, draw, and attend art shows.

Karen is survived by her daughters, Shelby (Daniel) Pineda of Covington, IN, Tiffanie (Dan) Harris of Kokomo, and Kim (Travis) Coffey of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Autumn Livengood, Mackenzie Livengood, Ashlynn Livengood, Brooklyn Coffey, Gavin Coffey, Caden Locklear, Kahlani Locklear, Finley Bolen and Tinzlee Bolen; siblings, Marj (Terry) Harmon of Warsaw, IN, Larry (Donna) Hanes of Warsaw, IN, and Paula (Leon) Brown of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Rodney Hanes.

A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Darrell Colburn officiating. Mary Jo Clark

Mary Jo Clark, 69, of Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at her home. She was born on January 25, 1955, in Kokomo, IN, to Fred E. McDonald and Anna L. (Davis) McDonald; she was raised by her mother and father, Ed Poe. On November 8, 1986, Mary married William Eugene “Gene” Clark in Tipton, IN, and he survives.

Mary attended Haworth High School and received her GED. She went on to work at Olympic Foods, Delco Electronics, and most recently, Cuneo Press. Mary loved to complete word puzzles, play solitaire, and play with baby dolls with her 5-year-old great-granddaughter. She enjoyed bonfires and cooking, especially meatloaf, which was her most delicious meal. Mary loved her family most of all.

Mary is survived by her husband, William “Gene” Clark; children, Sonja Marie Clark, Mark Edward (Melanie) Clark, Max Eugene (Jeannie) Clark, Thomas Harley (Jessica) Lay, Paul Patrick Clark, Nichole Marie Clark, Heather Lee Atkins, Hunny Lynn (William) Lee, Hayden Alise Atkins-Clark, and Chase Alexander Atkins-Clark; grandchildren, Kristi Hill, Brittany Baxter (Mendoza), Jeremiah Clark, Mary Miron, Megan Clark, Dameon Clark, Krystalynne Clark, Neveah Clark, Mirah Clark, Sarah Hughes, Noah Hughes, Jonah Hughes, Jack Lay, Raven Clark, Benny Clark, Veronica Fletcher, Hannah Schwyn, Angel Schwyn, Matthew Mendoza, Ethan Lee, and Aliana Lee; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel Mendoza, Delanie Mendoza, Xavier Mendoza, Jordan Powe, Jahiem Hill, Cylas Baxter, Ronnie Baxter Jr, Ameah Baxter, Jaxon Shiraef, Layla Clark, Neveah Clark, Brayson Harms, Neveah Miron, and Alivia Clark.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margaret McDonald, Tom McDonald, and Robin McDonald; grandchildren, William Joseph Mendoza, Holli Irene Mendoza, and Kayden Max Edward Clark.
