We have a responsibility to share the wisdom and love God gives us
I have come to realize that everything I have — my gifts, my resources, my wisdom — is not just for me. God has blessed me so that I can be a blessing to others. He didn’t pour into me just so I could hold onto it, but so I could give it away, investing in the lives of those around me.
Jesus makes this clear in John 15:16, where He says, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”
This verse reminds me that God has not only chosen me but appointed me for a purpose — to bear fruit that lasts. This fruit isn’t just for my benefit; it is meant to be shared so that others may also experience the goodness of God.
When God blesses us, it’s never just for us. If He gives us wisdom, it’s so we can teach and guide others. If He provides us with resources, it’s so we can help those in need. If He gives us influence, it’s so we can lead by example, showing people His love through our actions. Everything He entrusts to us is an opportunity to pour into someone else’s life.
I think about the generations that came before me — the people who took the time to teach, correct, and encourage me. They didn’t just keep their knowledge and experiences to themselves; they passed them down so that I could stand on their shoulders and go even further. Now, it’s my responsibility to do the same. If I hoard what God has given me, it stops with me. But if I share it, if I invest in others, then the blessing continues beyond my lifetime.
This is how God’s Kingdom operates. When we sow into others, we create a ripple effect. The wisdom I share with one young person today could shape their entire future, and one day, they will do the same for someone else. The love I show someone in need could be the very thing that leads them to Jesus, and then they will go on to share that love with others. The blessings God gives us are meant to be passed down, so they never run out but instead continue to grow.
I choose to live with open hands. Whatever God has given me, I will use for His glory and for the good of others. I will teach, I will give, I will love. Because I know that I have been blessed — not just for myself — but to be a blessing. As my mother always says, “you are Blessed to be a Blessing.”
