Alize White is looking for a few phenomenal women.
She is helping to organize the Phenomenal Women’s Empowerment Conference on Sat., Sept. 21, and she knows there are plenty of women out there who need to be uplifted for the things they are doing in their lives, for their families, and in the community.
The conference will take place at Friends Meeting in Kokomo, 1801 W. Zartman Road. Registration starts at 9 a.m., and the conference runs from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
“The conference is women joining together in an inspiring atmosphere to be with other phenomenal women, to uplift other phenomenal women in the community, and to motivate and connect with like-minded women who love the Lord,” said White. “This is a chance to invest in yourself and be uplifted.”
Tickets to the event are $25, which includes breakfast in the morning during registration, and the first 25 participants who register early for the conference through EventBrite will receive a gift bag. According to White, there are still early registrations available.

The keynote speaker will be Mother Delores L. Kennedy-Williams of Indianapolis, an activist in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She will be joined by Pastor Mindy Mayes, Mrs. Della Hall, Psalmist Krissie Reece, Prophetess Dorothy Watson, and Sister Sheila Jefferson.
Reece will open the conference with praise and worship at 10 a.m. Jefferson will follow with a message about The Movement of God. Hall will speak next, examining Psalms 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.”
Pastor Mayes, from Bethel AME Church in Noblesville, will speak on “Healing from Past Trauma,” followed by keynote speaker Kennedy-Williams
The conference will be followed by a special Sunday morning worship service on Sept. 22, featuring Presiding Elder Lenore G. Williams.
White added that special recognition will be given to Reba Harris, the founder of the Gilead House in Kokomo who passed away earlier this year. The moment will take place at the conclusion of the conference.
“We’re going to honor her and her family with a moment of silence,” said White. “She kicked off the first women’s empowerment conference, and we want to pick up where she left off.”
There will be vendors at the conference, and there are spaces available for additional vendors at $35 per space. To register as a vendor, call White at 765-437-9618.
