On Aug. 25, 2024, at approximately 2:42 p.m., officers of the Kokomo Police Department responded to the Kokomo Casting Plant, at 2401 South Reed Road, in reference to a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a female, identified as Nicole Ingle of Kokomo, was standing in the grass on the west side of U.S. 931. Nicole was attending the annual Chrysler car show.
Levi Chamness, of Greentown, was leaving the car show and turned south on U.S. 931 in a 2006 GMC 1500. Witnesses reported that the GMC conducted a burnout with smoke coming from the tires. The GMC lost control and spun into the crowd at the car show, striking Nicole and another vehicle attending the car show.
Community Howard EMS and the Kokomo Fire Department responded to the scene shortly after the accident and rendered assistance. A blood draw was completed on the driver of the GMC to ensure intoxicants were not a factor in this investigation.
Nicole was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
This incident is currently under investigation. If anyone has additional information concerning this case, please contact Officer Michael Riley at 765-457-7017.
